yeah but its a tax that goes back into where it came from, Broadband. I don't see anything wrong with that. What i hate, are taxes that will eventually pay for something else ...

I just thought about it a little but if they need more money to invest in other parts of the UK, the initial price of the rendered service should have been higher
so yes it is F BS

what id be more worried about is the fact that we, as tax payers, have bailed out HBOS with a total sum of £480 billion.

... and then get skullfucked in return thanks to the banks WINNING the "unfair charge" court cases Sad So now they've got a green light to charge whatever they want, whenever they want, for whatever reason they want. The excuse that apparently won them over in the eyes of the law?

"The charges are in place to cover overdrafts for current account members"

YAY. I get denied a current account, yet I have to PAY for some fat rich fucking tosser to have his? I'm so glad I left that cesspool of a country.

£6 a year doesn't bother me as long as all the money goes on improving broadband services.

aww fuck

and i was holding out for that, ive had over 2grands worth of bank charges in the last 8 years. and all mainly due to the fact my bank wont give me a £50 overdraft... just to cover my arse... they can all go fuck themselves...

Same here, my friend, same here. I asked, all-but-begged, for a £50 overdraft - just to cover the months where an unexpected payment occurs, but they flatout refused. I then applied, numerous times, for a current account and again; they denied it. I think, and this is a conservative estimate, I've paid that bank in the region of £2500 in charges over the last 8 years too Sad

Back when I was working in a hotel, I got hit by unauthorised overdraft charges almost ALL the time.

wow, they're really stingy with overdraft in the UK or something?

I have $750 on mine, and it's come in handy a few times (especially since all my students loans/bills/old car payment etc all used to come out automatically) ... they just do a quick credit check and that's it.

i never took a loan, never go below etc. Works nice, you guys should try it.

And don't bother with "yeah but if you want to buy xyz" guess what ... DONT. If you can't afford paying for something cash, you simply cant and shouldnt buy it ... period.

Your telling me you've never had a fridge/freezer or something blow up and had to fork out money to pay for a new one? There are times where you don't have a choice, thats what loans and overdrafts are there for, just incase of shitty things that happen in life. I do agree though, its the arseholes that buy luxury items that they can't afford then can't keep up on the repayments.

Oh and don't get me started on Natwest.. thieving fuckers.

Anyway, this Tax doesn't even put a dent in whats needed to actually provide broadband for all as stated by BT, so wheres this money going then.. down a huge hole like the majority of our taxes. They piss more of our money up the wall then a drunk on a saturday night.

Natwest have just lowered most of their charges. A failed direct debit before would cost you 38 pounds on the day and then another 38 at the end of the month as you would have been overdrawn. Now it's 5 pound for a failed DD and it is taken the next month. I'm quite happy about that.

yeah... but by the time its improved significantly im sure your son/daughter is married Rolling Eyes Cool Face

Just look at Sweden; 100/100mbit (in large cities) for under 399 SEK (check www.xe.com for your currency) Norway isn't that much more expensive, just sucks that not more places have ready fiber, like where I live Sad.
