Since D-Tard decided Freelancer wasn't worth mentioning in their "top 50 games", instead putting shite like Warioware there, and Waargh reckons out of 100 people more will choose Wario over Freelancer.

I thought I'd bring this to a vote.

Waargh reckons that if you put that test in a game shop where ordinary people are the results would be obvious.

Nforce is a haven for freaks... errr, I mean connoisseurs and of course everyone will vote for Freelancer (including me) Smile

Well, I'd definitely choose Super Mario World 3: Wario Land for the Gameboy as one of my top games of this century, probably for reasons of nostalgia beyond everything else (I'd do the same with Super Mario World 2), but WarioWare... Laughing

Personally I always rated "Six Golden Coins" over any of the other Mario Land titles, but for pure nostalgia? Mario Land, the original, takes that vote. I still remember each and every level on that game and the ending credits music? Bliss >> Crying or Very sad

Ye, SML1 is too old for me, I only played it on an emulator and it didn't leave a mark. SML2 was my first Gameboy game (got the device with the game in a boundle). Wario was my favorite boss in that game. So you can imagine my surprise later, when my mom purchased SML3WL, and I was "WHAAAAAAAA!?", and basically I got "ill" for 3 days and couldn't go to school. It was just amazing.

BTW, by "Six Golden Coins", you mean SML2, right? Six coins to open Wario's castle. Razz

Ok I checked it out, space sims are not my cup of tea .... actually any Sims I can't stand.
This is what Edge magazine said about it
Edge Magazine
5/10
Remarkably compelling. But there's only so much joy to be found in repetition, particularly when dogfighting interludes are so mannered. Ultimately, it's difficult to recall what all the fuss was ever about.

Although I have to admit Wario is shit too

I voted for freelancer because it's an amazingly fantastic game. I have my MSI Wind dual-booting OSX and winXP with the XP partition solely for freelancer.

Yes, SML2 - but you said Warioland (SML3 Razz) I know Wario was the boss and the entire game had so much more charm and gameplay than the first one, it was like a portable Super Mario World ^_^

@Mace

It's not often I disagree with Edge, but this is one of those times. I don't know any space-sim fan that would disagree over the awesomeness of Freelancer. Edge saddens me.

Freelancer Alpha-One, you're cleared for launch. Good luck out there!

Freelancer being superior to some pos brand-exploiting game isn't a matter of opinion, it's fact.
