it wont show up, only in task manager taking 50% of my cpu. | Works here. If you can get it to work I would like to know what kind of performance you get. We have similar systems...and the game is unplayable for me at 1280x960. |
Its unplayable on my machine too

Again: For nvidia users the solution for stuttering is setting render frames ahead to zero (0) in your NCP.Don't try lowering resollution, textures, slice or anything else.Even on low or 640x480 the game will stutter again if you don't set the frames ahead to 0.Game runs perfectly at max settings 1680x1050 even with an old 8800gt.
For ATI users i don't really know a solution.Does ATI tray or CCC have a similar option as NCP?

Does anybody have a problem with adjusting settings? After I choose my resolution and details game starts in 640 x 480, (even if I manually edit my settings.ini). If I want to play in hi-res, the only solution for me so far is to delete settings.ini and override refresh rate in my dxdiag dialog and then I can play normally and game loads in my desktop resolution. Beside this, game works without freezing and stuttering.

Looks like a ripoff of Hitman to me, besides the animations look like total crap - all fast like and all. Did anyone else notice that?

In ATI Tray Tools (a 3rd party program) in 3D>Flip Queue Size>Set 0 there
Flip Queue Size = Maximum Pre-rendered Frames
Catalyst Control Center doesn't have this option

Same problem here.
Game starts at 640x480 or 800x600 or some other lame low resolution.
And I can't change it no matter what I do..
edit:
Found one way to run it at higher res:
Use the Auto-Detect in the configurator thingy... but then it changes to 2048x1536x71hz.. which is a weird and horrible res.
I want it at 1600x1200x90
I hate you.

Try to delete your setting.ini (my Documents\my Games\Saboteur\...) and start the game without loader, use saboteur.exe. It should start in your desktop res.
I still have a CRT monitor so I still use 100Hz refresh rate and prehistoric 1024 x 1280 res.

"My fix for ATI vcard users. This works with my 2 rigs, one with 4870, other one has HD 5970 with win 7 64bit OS on both. This fixes the freeze in menus but slows game FPS.
1. Rename Saboteur.exe to UT3.exe and run it to play
2. While in game, alt-tab then ctrl-alt-delete to show task manager
3. Find UT3.exe in process tab, right click it, click set affinity, uncheck all processors, check only CPU 3 (for quad core) or CPU 1 (for core 2 duos). Press ok, minimize the task manager.
4. Go back to the game and the problem is fixed!"
