How does the game run at this point?
I've read X3 has had horrible performance issues pretty much since Reunion's release. Have things been optimized at all by now?

Uh, it's not a dupe. It'd be one if, say, Vitality had already released this particular edition.

maybe it's not worth a 3 dvd download for you, but it's not a dupe.
it's the same as game of the year editions of other games with dlc included for example. it's a new retail release with additional content, so a new scene release is applicable.
that the content may have been released individually before doesn't make it a dupe.

ive never played any of this kinda games before (just freelancer which i loved but it wasnt as deep as this game by a long shot) so i got a question about upgrading my ship - i started as the terran defender or whatever and they gave me a new ship. now i was happy to see that the new ships speed can be upgraded to like 450 m/s (i really wanted a faster ship than the sabre i originally got) but after installing all the 'engine tuning' upgrades i could at some defence station the speed was still at 170 m/s - slower than the 240 the saber came with.
is there some limitation to how many upgrades a noob pilot can do to their ship, or did i mess something up? the whole trading system is a bit difficult for me to understand atm. other than that, the game seems rly fun!

If you did buy the upgrades, they should have upped the top speed (seen many problems, never upgrades not working). Besides, the smaller. faster ships (M4-M5) trade speed for shield capacity, hull strength and laser power. They can be effective in groups and are good for recon, but are useless pretty much as a player ship. You will be given more ships as you progress through the first Terran mission including 3 more Rapiers (shortly after the first). Keep your Sabre and use the 4 Rapier in a wing for use in patrol missions. There is a limit to upgrades, but you can either cheat arount that limitation, or use one of several methods to add additional tuning in game (like the Mobile Repair Ship).

thanks for your help, i found out im an idiot - i had misunderstood the buying system. got all the speed upgrades now, but i already sold my saber. gonna be fiddling around with the stuff anyway, until i figure out how to do everything etc and then start a new game and do it the right way!

Well if you don't have time for both of them, you'll hardly have time even for one of them, since each game is HUGE and consumes way much time comparing to other single-player games. But if you are new to X3, play Reunion.

Look numbnutts, there is fuck all wrong with the page I linked to, ergo, Kaspersky is shite. Capiche? Good. Trying to be smart about it doesn't make you look any less stupid. Besides, you probably didn't pay for it anyway, so no great loss eh. |
Way to go defensive!
Trojans are meant to go by unnoticed, so the fact you didn't notice anything wrong in the page means squat. Perhaps it is, in fact, a false positive, though. I hope so, for your sake. No real loss for me, at any rate. I can just get X3 mods from other places.
And it's "capisce" (capisci if you're being informal). If you want to make use of a language other than your native one, do it right. Capisce?

Been going there for well over a year and not seen or heard of anyone having issues with their site. So we'll settle for false positive. x3tc.ru is the definitive x3 info source and next to egosoft's forums the second best place for anything x3 related. If you had an issue with the site, dropping an admin a note wouldn't go amiss as I'm fairly certain there is no intentional crap at their site and if the problem is an ad I'd bet they'd rather fix it than have people whining about them on other forums because their piece of shit AV freaked out (something Kaspersky has a reputation for).
As for your sematics;

capisce UK or formal

capiche?

It's a real word, get over it.
