Amazing game. Just completed it, and wow, what an experience. Everything is top notch, apart a few battles, I thought the game was perfect. It is games like this make me a happy ps3 owner.
Anyone knows what difficulty does it start after you complete the game, and press continue button. It starts off with the first level, but I dont know what difficulty it is.
I want to complete on hard, to unlock the super hard one. Also can I purchase unlimited ammo on hard, and would it count if i complete the game that way, with unlimited ammo?
Sig too big. -Nothing is too big for Fedor. Expect a nasty armbar.
Just completed this amazing game. Absolutely unforgettable.. It just deserves a 10/10 through out. There was nothing, and I mean NOTHING, that I didn't like whatsoever.
Naughtydog should be patting themselves on the back, I hope it makes them ridiculous amounts of money.
%100 game of the year for me. I also played it on hard mode first time around and it took around 18 hours to complete. GREAT. Right when I thought the game was nearing end, bam, another massive epic area to explore. And I know I mentioned it before but the GFX are simply STUNNING... when you actually get to the ancient city level at the end of the game I guarantee your mouth will simply drop at the visuals.. How the hell did they do it, no loading times, super smooth frame rate.. just aaweeesome.

A Gigantic +1!!!!!!!!!!!! Glad you enjoyed it! I have been thinking about the game for some time now. I cannot wait to go through it again. I am actually going to play Part 1 again and then go through Part 2 again. Buying a PS3 was the best decision I have made in the past couple years!

you already know my opinion, had both + traded both in a few days later :/ Just so generic and boring, I really really tried to like infamous but it and prototype both just got boring so fast.
Reeeeally too repetitive.
Technically, the way UC2 is youd think it would get repetitive, but for some reason it doesnt. They mix things up just right, and your never doing one thing for too long.
But if you're getting Uncharted 2, you gotta get Uncharted 1 too...
I mean, you don't HAVE to play the first one to play the second one, but I can only recommend it... The first one is pretty short but it can be found for very cheap prices nowadays and it's totally worth it because it's amazing and I think it'll make Uncharted 2 much more enjoyable for you because you'll appreciate some of the character quirks much more.
Just trust me on this, get it for a bargain and play it first, then play the second. It's worth it.
I've been playing Uncharted 2 for a few days. I'm at 80% according to my save file. Great game.
Last night when I was playing it my PS3's fans started to spin up like I've never heard them before after about an hours worth of play. It sounded louder than my launch 360 ever did. It's strange because in the 2 years that I've had this PS3 I've never once been able to hear the fans so I was especially shocked to hear them spin up so loudly. Infact, I switched the PS3 off immediately because I was sure that it was just about to go up in smoke.
A quick search online found a few other users who report similar fan issues with Uncharted 2 so I was wondering whether or not anyone here had experienced anything similar?
The thing with fan noise is that it's subjective. You say you've had your PS3 2 years now... then you should know that there is typically three sound levels for the fans; XMB & movie playback, games, and a louder version for stuff that pushes the hardware.
I know of the third one almost instantly as I bought my PS3 to play GTA4 and it would occasionally spin off into that mode. Crucially it's still working. The first time I heard it I worried... but it's obviously nothing to worry about (assuming your noise fits into the list above). I'm used to the way the PS3 shifts between fan noise levels now, but I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary with Uncharted 2 in that respect.

No, I've played many many games on this PS3 over the last 2 years and its virtually silent. I've also been playing Uncharted 2 today and after a couple of hours it hasn't happened again. When my fans spin up then obviously the first thought that comes into my mind is that it's overheating and trying to cool the system, but it's never done it before.
Just to give you an idea, this is exactly what it sounded like

Worrying indeed. Sounded like an old hair dryer.
Holy shit. I'd be frantic if that happened to me... Definitely sounds like a hair dryer and nothing like the three normal states of the fans (low, medium, high). I suppose I would be worried in that case...but does it only happen in Uncharted 2? Wonder whether it could it have anything to do with the (popularised) YLOD problem (as doesn't that burn off thermal paste which helps cool stuff?).

Just finished it. Amazing game and best graphics on console IMO.

lol, worth completing even with your problem
That's the thing. It didn't happen again and I played about 3 and a half hours worth of Uncharted 2 today so if it was a case of the game pushing the hardware to the limits then I would guess that it would have done it again today.
It only happened last night while I was on the part where your chasing the bad guys and trying to save Shafer in the monastery. And IMO there's nothing about that part of the game that should be any more taxing on the hardware than any other part from a graphical point of view.
Maybe it was just a one time thing, I don't know. Hopefully it's not a sign of things to come. I'd hate to get the YLOD or something else go wrong with my PS3.
Played the demo, got a meh feeling through out. Maybe Im missing something? Graphics are ok but mass effect 2 on the pc at high res was way way better.

lol.... console games (99% of them) run on 1280x720@30fps and have no AA. Graphics will always be better on the PC.
