I want to get the new lfd2 demo, but im scread to install steam after all the bad stuff with starforce and all. If I uninstall steam will it completely uninstall w./out leaving bad stuff on my pc?

nope
steam won't install any drivers or anything nasty to your computer
in fact, i installed steam and all my steam games inside a sandbox and it runs within it happily
any game with drivers would require me to install the drivers outside it
if you're as paranoid with software screwing up your machine as i am, i recommend you try sandboxie aswell
though, it only works in 32bit systems

i've also had my share of trouble with starfarce and it's kind so i make it a point to install every game and unknown piece of software in a sandbox

However, it will really torment your internet connection (and sometimes disc access) while it's running...
