nothing special about that, a whole lot of people play their games from their HDD after ftping them over in some way.
That's the whole point of getting a new HDD for the xbox.

But I guess there could be some people who don't know about that

Actually, I didn't. Only having just chipped my box, I wondered if I could just FTP the games straight to my drive, instead of having to burn and then rip them. I've also had some mild problems uploading a large number of files to my xbox (3,500 mame roms), which caused my xbox to go all crazy like, so I never bothered, but i'll try this out for sure!

Thanks

That's because many roms have too long of file names. You can use one of the many rom renamer programs to shorten them down. I can't remember exactly how long they can be to work on the XBox HDD.

Really? Well the largest rom name (in zip format), would probably be about 7 characters. Also, i've noticed that when i try to connect to the "roms" folder on my xbox where i have half of these roms stored, causes the program to stop responding, until about 10 mins later, when it finally lists the files. I'm thinking there might be a limit on the number of files per folder, which is why it's going wierd.
