Like Ezio can do a back jump up to grab onto an overhanging ledge, but he can't shimmy up a wall with a small wall nook no more than a few feet above him? Small nigglers, but it's still there.
Theres a viewpoint in Venice I'm having trouble getting up to because of this, I was hoping that eventually we'd 'unlock' an ability to help Ezio shimmy up notches that are just a little bit out of reach, but right now I'm stumped. Other than that I really enjoy the hidden areas, they've not too challenging and if you've played PoP before you'll feel right at home.
edit: Played further, ability did indeed need to be unlocked first.

Ignore PAL and NTSC in the release names, they are mislabeled because the scene rules say so
720p in North America = 720p in Europe = 720p in Asia
the only thing you need to care about is region lock
yes. it's region free. don't tell me you've been avoiding PAL releases all this time
yes I was, old habits die hard

I suppose there's no free roaming after the end of the game so I should pause before the last mission in order to get all collectibles and achievements I guess?
edit:
Has anybody found a map for the feathers already because I can't get a hold of strategy guide.

If it's anything like the first AC you can >>kind of<< freeroam after the story...
Still trying to figure out if there's a way to replay old memories? I think not, which would suck greatly.
I still think the story is awesome and, contrary to what other people seem to believe, I don't think it's that much of a brainfuck, not as confusing as some people made it out to be.
It's cryptic and by now goes far beyond a mere conspiracy theory but damn, I'm so gonna buy this game although I finished it, I wanna see AC 3 god damn
I have yet to collect all 100 feathers but I always used a guide for something like that before. Exploring and running around a city is fun but not when you have to look into every last corner because you might have missed a feather somewhere (I'm reminded of GTA VC's hidden packages and the likes. Hated it, did it anyway, but with a nice guide).
(And I finally know which weapon I'm missing, not exactly which but how to get it, it's unlocked when you collected 50 feathers - or so the internetz says).
Wall of text incoming.
If you're interested in my humble opinion about the game, read, if not, skip it, I don't mind just felt like writing today
I'd say 8-8,5 / 10
To me, it did everything AC did but better. The story was more compelling, added some nice gameplay mechanics (being able to upgrade weapons and armor, gadgets etc.).
I won't say anything about the graphics because I'm not enough of a GFX whore to realize every little detail that might or migt not have looked good.
Some thing I didn't like were a) how some of the major assassinations worked. For me it always went something like this: "Ok, I'm gonna try to sneak in, be all stealthy and shit. There's my mark, slowly... aw fuck he's running." And then I would just chase after him and ignore the 50 something guards that tried to murder me by then (maybe I'm just a crappy, impatient guy and you were supposed to do those all differently but I couldn't figure out how *shrug*).
I liked the idea of the treasures and being able to steal. I'm not a fan of the treasure maps because they kill some of my urge to explore the cities.
And stealing was, well, if I was a nice guy I'd say it was made obsolte very fast by the villa but to be honest, stealing was useless from the get go (except in the couple of missions where you have to steal something). The amount of money you gain from stealing is ridiculous and you always gain some notoriety, well, later that's not a big problem anymore but at that point you're probably getting more than enough money from the villa so you wouldn't steal anymore anyway.
In conclusion, it's a good game (if you like that free roam, free running games).
It has it's flaws, every game does, but nothing too obvious or game breaking.
It's a good sequel to a (in my opinion) good game and I hope that the 3rd game of the series is even better though I'm already curious because how the setting of AC3 is going to be because I thought after completing AC1 that the second game would already be in modern day and see how wrong I was with that idea.
I guess AC3 is going to be the last one (hopefully they don't prolong the story in a very ugly artificial way) but I hope that wee see more of this kinda genre. It has potential and (even though this is the second game already) is something more innovative than what we see around most these days.

Anyone at the mission where you play as ALTAIR? It comes after you opened up Venezia .
He says : Altair? How is this possible blabla?
And then he must follow a target.
The target goes into a TOWER and then really WTF?
I have searched for 1 hour but nothing yet, seem stuck.
Yes i am at the same point and i am going CRAZY!!!!!! i died for 10 times already, i climbed up the tower half way to the balcony then i cant climb any futher, i try'd anything to climb the wooden beam with the lantern hanging on it but i cant climb it!!!
wow, I must say the facial animation look terrible also, the movements seem less realistic then in AC1. btw I replayed AC1 few weeks ago so I'm not delusional. Story wise I'm still at the beginning but its quite intriguing

you go on the balcony to the left or right and jump on the wood part that is sticking out. This part is VERY buggy but that is how I did it after 10 times lol.

AC3 is about WWII and as far as I know they wanted to make another one in the future to conclude the idea of showing different history periods.
p.s. and that actually reminds of a game called Time Commando

I see, thanks for clearing that up
It should be noted that the advice above ONLY applies to video games. PAL and NTSC movies still have a difference due to frame rates. This doesn't apply to video games as they're running at standard frames.
Anyhoo. I'm yet to play this but from all reports it looks good. Will play next week.

not buggy, just stand underneath it, hold the trigger button and press the jump button without pushing the analog stick in any direction. he'll jump straight up in the air and crab the board. no need to jump from the side of the balcony (which I did a dozen time to my death till I realized I just needed to jump straight up).

It does apply to movies too, BluRays may have region locks but the picture format is the same (all run at 24 / 1,001 fps if they were filmed on film).
Do you guys use all those poisons, smoke bombs, crowd blending etc.? I mean USE, not just check how it works? IMHO it is totally useless and bothersome to be stealth, it's much more effective to just march in, kill'em all and remove 4 posters to become anonymous again. BTW, some of these posters are placed in such ridiculous places. I mean, when you post a picture of a criminal and want people to familiarize with it, you don't place it somewhere near the roof of building or on a balcony, right?
I would really like the game to encourage - not force the player, like it does in some missions - to use stealth techniques, like it was in Hitman. Sure, you could have massacred all, but it was relatively difficult and you could have gotten iced easily. Not the case with ACII, you can kill off any number of guards with ease. And, you get no rewards for being stealth, as you did in Hitman series.

I used smoke quite a bit , handy if you are swarmed or to get the remaining codec pages. ( drop the smoke , quick double kill the first 2 . then the remaining 2 and if your lucky no hit to notoriety )
also if there was a largish crowd I would poison a brute via stealth as he can take out a few of his own men with his swings

Still, killing 4 guards is not a problem. Notoriety also is not a problem. Why bother, then... It's a pity, because the idea of stealth action could have been really great.

Because it takes me a total of 3 attacks to dispatch 4 guards ( be it a seeker , brute or just armored guards ) instead of fighting and countering / dodging for a little bit .
I use a smoke bomb and by the time the smoke disappears I am in and retrieving the codec page, Where as there is a good chance if I didn't i could still be monotonously fighting these guards and backup may have arrived

ah, with a wall run it works great^^
or just jump without pushing the analog stick to jump straight up and grab the board
