Hi All!

Hope everyone is dandy! I just need some help or advice really.. I'm planning to upgrade my board and memory, I want to get a DDR3 board and about 4gb of DDR3 memory but using my 775 E8400 chip in that board. I've been reading around and alot of people are saying there is no point on upgrading and using that chip as it wasnt really made for DDR3 memory so the speed wont really make a difference?

i wouldnt buy a new board and ram just for the sake of having DDR3

only reason to go for DDR3 + new mobo is if you are getting a new CPU that supports a different socket

it is most definatly not worth the expense unless you are moving to a new cpu platform.
I5 would be a good upgrade for you.

On that note though you might want to wait a while, the prices on ram are sky rocketing justnow.

There is better performance to be had on the i5 chip than the AMD chips.
Unless all you do is game on the pc when you will only see the advantage in cpu intensive situations...
