Something popped up in my mind, destiny is send to explore the far side of the universe by the ancients right? Also aren't the ancients the ones who built the stargate's? So how come there are stargates on these planets, when the ancients never have been there before? I think I remember there is an answer for this on the 1st ep, but Im not sure.

i kinda like it. Other stargate shows were different, but I dont mind the drama. Atm it keeps me interested.

This Episode 6 called WATER was the best of the hole series ,it was written by Carl Binder .
To add more praise to him ,he was the main writer for the SG: Atlantis... so after 5 crap episodes they are finally going back to the OLD crew that made the SG series so great.
He also wrote two other scripts for SGU soon to come to the TV screen , talking about episode9 : Life and eps17 Pain.
Another good news is they letting him write a new script for the new StarGate SG-1 movie to come in 2010.

The last episode was okay, a lot better then the previous except water. Had a bit of mystic feeling to it. I'd really want to see some plot development now and not so much character development, its impossible to even speculate what the next ep is gonna be about since there is no freaking storyline etc.
Well, here's for hoping..

There is no ending for episode 108. It just ends like that and moves on, the next episode doesnt have anything to do with the previous one.

While I really enjoyed this episode they need to maintain better continuity.
How are we even to know what events have transpired that result in their eventual success? Hopefully they'll at least give us some indication of what occurred in the next episode.

Actually they give us some small details in one of the Kino webisodes:
 Spoiler: | Following from the end of "Time", Eli and Lt. Scott detail how they found the two Kinos which were sent back in time in the two alternate timelines. With that knowledge, T.J. is developing a cure for the disease which they are all infected with. Both Eli and Scott relay their thanks to the alternate Scott who sacrificed his life, and Eli wishes that for once they could have a day where death isn't staring them in the face. |

I don't bother watching the webisodes, so thanks for those details.
This show is okay for now, getting a bit of a BSG vibe from it. Except that I only like a few of the characters. The Senator's daughter, for example, seems utterly worthless to me except as a love interest for characters that actually have a point.

So its not just me.....the stones are cool if used once in a while...but they are over doing it.
And when are they going to introduce an enemy? Even in Season 1 of SG1 and SGA, enemies were introduced.
So far, the only thing we've seen was some alien craft leaving the shift during FTL in the first or second episode and that fucking sand mist swirl thing which seems to be good.
Maybe the Ori will be the enemy....like Ori who haven't ascended but have the same level of tech as the ancients/crew of Destiny.
That'd be cool.
Fuck....even if they brought the Goa'uld into it, I'd be fine with it for now.....I wanna see some kinda enemy introduced and an enemy story line start to happen....
But back to the stones.....that aspect does allow for some interesting plot twists and storylines and shit

Btw, doesn't anyone think its.....kinda odd that in S5 of SGA, one of the last few eps they had one of the ancient terminals with the stones and Dr.Keller switched bodies with that thief chick and in that episode McKay said that the SGC personal still have no idea how it works....they didn't even know how to turn it off aside from shooting it/blowing it up.
But now they have the stones interfaced with a human built device that works perfectly and what not? I find that odd....but maybe its just me

You should read the future episode descriptions, its all spoiled there! The first Season ends with Rhona Mitra from the Lucian Alliance (booring) boarding and taking over the Destiny and thats it.

But at the same time....there are tons of possibilities for SGU.
Isn't there supposed to be 1 or 2 SGA movies coming to DVD. Like to wrap up the story.....Atlantis comes to earth in the series finale and thats it....the wraith are still out there trying to get to earth and shit etc
I like SGU cuz its darker tho. SGA was very light hearted until S4 and S5 when it really took off.
SGU has a strong cast and a ton of potential in many ways.
And the episode on Dec 4 is only the FALL Finale....not the Season....

From my understanding the first movie will only add new details instead of actually ending it. That is the way the producers put it.
What really sucks is that they put the production of the movies on hold. Its been that way since august. No idea when they will be put back into production but they say the economy is so fucked up right now that they would rather release it at a later date.
