and you can buy maps that show their location

worst thing to do imo, this just clutters up the map with heaps of treasure icon shit. and the amount of money in them is laughable at best

another thing about money in this game: get enough to buy the starter armor/weapons + big medicine pouch, then just invest EVERY penny you get into the villa (and the surrounding village) - the amounts needed might seem massive at first, but it pays of very well Very Happy

I think the worst thing about buying the maps is that you kill one part of the exploration allure to the game. It's not fun running around getting the chests when you know where they are, that just feels like errands. But if you try and find them yourself, that's fun and it feels rewarding (not because of the money, as you say, it's quite laughable how little money you get) because you found it on your own. Some are very easy to find, but some can be really tricky. :>

+1, but then again, they should have made a counter (like the flags in AC1), put some special equipment in the chests or simply made money more scarce altogether (=chests as the only way besides mission rewards). the way it is right now, looting the chests simply doesn't stimulate your brain's reward center as much as it should.

finished it today btw. it's a good game, much better than AC1. great story plus the gta-like progression fits the game much better. could have easily been a GOTY candidate if it wasn't for:
- glitches
- some missions are just annoying
- fuckin ugly character heads
- silly combat system (it's easier to kill the hardest enemies unarmed than with a sword! Laughing)
- it's far too easy
- new gameplay additions/items like the pistol or poison prove to be completely useless
- the glider is a nice idea, but underused
- overall not really any gameplay innovations
- the actual assassination missions are done worse than in AC1 (in terms of planning, overall execution, level design)

and the biggie: while the ezio story is excellent, the ending is a big big fuckup and after all this mystery shit, you are being told that
 Spoiler:

the whole modern day/mystery part was executed well in AC1, but this time it just feels like they hired some j.j. abrams knockoff to tack a pound of bullshit onto medieval GTA.
well done ubisoft! you've made a good game, but you still simply HAD to include some extra stuff that only drags it down. it's like baking a beautiful cake and then putting a turd on top of it.

Finally got the game yesterday, played from like 7PM to midnight non-stop and god it was awesome, can't wait to play it some more
Although I didn't relaly like how it took like 2 hours to finally get "in the game" since the whole Desmond part + the long ass tutorial/intro story were starting to get really long, given how much I was craving for some assassin action

So, those 8 (or something like that) statues that are hidden. Are they hidden all over the place or only in Monteri... that place where your uncle's villa is? Very Happy

Thanks, figured that out when I looked into the iventory and it explicitly says "statues bla bla bla found in Monteriggioni Villa" (or whatever it's called. I, for the love of god, can't learn that name Very Happy)

I hope it doesn't take too long for people to either upload the guide or at least a map with the feathers. Just too many feathers to collect...

Yup, I have no problems with everything else, but those damn feathers. The puzzles are quite fun too. I love finding glyphs and the whole conspiracy theory stuff.
Overall It's a really great game for me. The combat is a bit unbalanced though (that or I just suck at it) I keep using the small blades all the time, everything else is quite useless compared to that.

i almost never found myself using daggers, always either countered the weak enemies or disarmed the harder ones and killed them with their own blades Twisted Evil

Spamming dual blades is how I roll. Fast and in case that's not enough, I can counter.

In one of the assassination contracts it says "best kill them without weapons", I think it's called "never get your hands dirty" or something. How am I supposed to kill somebody without a weapon? Just beat the living shit out of them? O.o

I hire mercs or throw them down if they are located at high places.

I must say this one is a huge improvement over the first part gameplaywise. Much more stuff to do, it does not seem so repetive as the prequel. Graphics is more or less similar, maybe in AC1 it made a better impression, AC2 is "I have seen it all before". Combat is still to easy. What I like least is the modern day story, I actually don't care much about it, it could have been just Ezio seeking revenge and it would be OK.

venezia only introduces 2 changes to viewpoint climbing: the last bit of church towers can be reached by climbing up, the hop inside, then shimmying raound to the outside. and if there is really no other way, you'll probably need to do a leap climb (which lets you leap about one ezio-length up). follow the story missions and you'll learn it soon enough Wink

There is a lot of new possibilities, like blending into the crowd, tossing money to distract the guards, hiring courtesans and mercenaries. The problem is, this seems quite obsolete, it is much more effective to kill off the guards. Of course, sometimes the game does not let you do it the hard way and demands, for example, to distract the guards - but that seems very artificial, to distract two of them with four courtesans, when you can easily kill ten. If the fighting was more difficult and challenging these new options would be nice...

I hated it. Played for about an hour or so.

The tasks given just feel so shallow. Story was something that wouldn´t draw me in. Gfx is ok I guess. The virtual world flashing is anoying. Fights boring. The "one-button-skills" for climbing is just really lame. Many time the character would do something I did not want him to. It´s so dumbed down it actually gets harder to play. The gameplay, gameworld, gamemechanics did not impress me.

Got nothing to confirm that but general opinion seems to be you do, indeed, need to collect all the feathers.
