I was hoping for something like this. Nothing's worse than getting a new party member later in the game and his/her stats are utterly useless because of auto-leveling.
However: will it respec all points, including book-learned ones as well?

Has anyone played through the game on hard? My first playthrough was on easy, and 2nd I'm doing on normal and I'm thinking I'd try another with a main character as a mage and push through the game on hard but that sounds masochistic. Is it as brutal as I'd think it would be?

I'm currently playing on my first play through, I took Hard mode as a mage main character. It's easy. I can't even imagine how easy "Easy" mode is. Some of the spells are quite imbalanced/abuseable.

Worked fine here. Hold TAB as you enter the camp, the bird should be just on your right.

I'm playing on hard as arcane warrior level 12. I like the difficulty at this level. But alot depends on what skills you pick for everyone and equipment.
Some of the harder fights are with templars and sometimes when you have 4-5 mages. Templars damage/stun/drain mana, and mages can kill you with few mass damage spells.
But I use force field on toughest enemy to take them out and crushing prison on another, and that's two enemies out of play for while. Force field works nicely on some bosses too, but the tougher the enemy the greater chance of resist.

So. Right now I'm in the Mage tower and after you've done the 3 summoning rituals there's a hidden 4th one, the ghost appears and you're supposed to steal a note from it but for the love of god I can't get it. Do I need like stealing 4 or what? I'm trying to do it with Leliana but who steals shouldn't matter, right? O.o She's got stealing 2 and it fails and fails and fails and gets pretty annoying.

I did it with leliana with stealing 2 and got it on first try. She has 30 cunning though. Playing on hard difficulty. The note is only for codex purposes. You do not gain anything else at all besides codex.

lol This game has shown the complete ignorance of a massive amount of consoltards. The amount of crying on the forums from console gamers cause they can't handle the complexity of this game is amazing.

Well, I could use a bit of advice...
As I've got ass wiped, I am beginning to think abour reroll...
Considering the fact that party will contain Alistar for tanking and Morri+wynn as artillery what change i do have to play as rouge/assassin with dual daggers?
EDIT : If so, which build?

Different opinions I see...

Rogues are fun, I don't know why there's a lot of QQ about them on the forums, sure they're not gods like mages but if you build and play one right, they are effective and imo a lot more satisfying in combat. I wish now I'd played one in my first play-through instead of an cheese-mode mage...
That said, if you're taking 2 mages it might be more convinient for you to take a bow rather than melee, that way AOE will be less of a pain to use. Personally, I think dagger-rogue/healer/tank/DW warrior is the most fun setup. mage/mage/mage/tank for ultimate easymode.

I have an arcane warrior with 45 magic and 55 spellpower using a two-handed sword, but he misses so often when attacking an orange colored enemy that it is a complete joke. Seems that since magic stave attacks never miss a target unless blocked, it makes no sense at all to have an arcane warrior use a melee weapon if they constantly miss their target.
Anyone have any insight on this?

Yea I know the game says dexterity, but no way to verify if spellpower has any effect on attack score if you are an arcane warrior. Game doesn't show any attack score stat for mages.

I have question regrading one of the last Slim Couldry's quest "Tears of Andraste ":
Spoiler: | I found a crate and the quest logs says that it is a trap. I used both methods - stealth and brute force, but I failed to find any real treasure (there is one door, which is locked , and I can lock pick it). But the worst thing is that I can't travel back anywhere. What should I suppose to do? |

You need to travel back the way you originally came in, back when you first entered the estate. Remember the alley-way with the trapdoor in the floor?

Staves are special because despite they never miss, they never land critical hits.
Other melee weapons still use dexterity to calculate chances to hit, so I don't know why arcane warriors should be an exception. Such hybrid would need strength and dexterity as well as magic and spellpower, making it rather inefficient on the whole. Why would any warrior work without the first two stats?

Epsilon: another thing I found when looking through forums, theres a bridge puzzle later on thats quite tough, on the console version you can't make mistakes
Epsilon: however in the pc version it's tough
Epsilon: thats a nodge nodge wink wink from the developers that console users are dumber than pc users

Well for an arcane warrior, strength is not needed AT ALL, because magic is used instead, but I guess they still need dex for attack score (plus bonus to defense). But the game makes no mention how magic affects attack score.
I just question why anyone would have an arcane warrior go into melee with a sword, etc, it makes no sense at all. An arcane warrior wearing heavy armor and using a staff can attack long range, never miss, and be able to cast spells. So why would anyone ever give arcane warriors melee weapons? Not only will you do less damage due to misses all the time, but you will only be able to cast few spells due to combat magic penalty. Just makes no sense and completely pointless. By the time you even get close enough for melee, the arcane warrior with staff already shot 2-3 times and can instantly change targets without moving all around. Plus a staff adds to spellpower making spells even better.
Anyone playing arcane warrior with melee weapons? I guess you could use the staff to attack then switch to melee weapons, but thats alot of clicking in order to do less damage due to constantly missing when attacking. I know you can use tactics, but I don't use tactics for main character anyway.
