Nope, his ping is only 3 bars (probably because of streaming), other players 5 bars, and he still didn't have any lag.

You cannot tell what is happening with a visual inspection. Do you have some magic goggles that allow you to see packet loss? The game won't neccesarily show anything is wrong visually but under the hood you don't know what's happening. Clients are at a huge disadvantage to the host.
Hey maybe you won't experience lag, maybe you'll be lucky and only get matched to people very near you. What about me though? I live in Australia and generally speaking upload speeds SUCK. What about other parts of the world that rely on dedicated servers because of poor consumer grade connections? or poor consumer hardware? I can't play a game of Borderlands without it lagging to all hell. It's impossible to find an all Aussie game. Hey matchmaking can do that right? Not in my experience. Every single implementation I have used outright FAILS to stick me with only Australians.

Fuck, watching that stream makes me want to buy it so much. If they do announce dedicated servers, i'll buy it in a heartbeat. I dont mind their peer 2 peer, but I cant enjoy 9v9, need more people.
