...damn damn and double damn
they are cancelling one of the best star trek series ever. Dunno what they are thinking but i suppose nothing at all. Seems that exectutives around the globe are going nuts nowadays and will rather go for high ratings for half a season with a stupid new show instead of supporting shows that have huge fan groups around the world that will always give at least good viewer-numbers.
got it from startrek.com but i guess its also on trektoday.com and all other trek-sites on the planet

hehehehehe
nah, i like him as captain. But i also like the crew alot. Its a more believable crew then the other ones and unlike the previous shows i pretty much from the beginning liked most if not all of em, as they played their roles well and the episodes where more concerned with the characters and their struggles then the obvious stories like shoot-the-bad aliens & help the good aliens...

I liked the series pretty much. I agree that this crew is better than before. They got nice humour, acts pretty well and so on. But, as long as Stargate and Battlestar galactica stays on course I will be not be to sorry.
R.I.P. Star trek: Enterprise.

We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year, running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.

R.I.P. Star trek: Enterprise
Even though I've enjoyed many of the shows (the original and TNG primarily, but the others to a certain extent), I think the franchise has simply gotten tired and a bit stale. Too many shows revolving around many of the same basic star trek plots week after week. I'd like to see it taken in a new direction, like featuring the crew of a Klingon ship doing battle across the universe and dealing with the political nuances of a chaotic empire. No more "prime directive". Perhaps a rogue Borg ship trying to escape from their sector...quadrant...whatever. Battlestar Borglactica. Just something new, damnit.

I agree wholeheartedly, what happens when you look at Enterprise is you compare it to the previous series, and it basically does the same they did, but worse on all accounts.

I got it! For the sake of feminism, they made all male characters homosexuals, and all female men-haters (we all know t'bonesteak and that chinese girl hate men, deep inside)) ... to make it even more obvious, they took a soundtrack made by homosexuals - and to sum it up, the guy responsible for the dildo's (also known as the torpedoes (gay innuendo, eh?)) is a sailor ... in the line of sailors (wouldn't surprise me if he is a long lost descendant of the Gaylord family).
Watch out, or we'll see Jude Law coming strutting down the catwalk (bridge) to the tunes of Sir Elton G. John.

TOS is perfect ground for a series, if it does not try and be so damn serious. it is never going to happen.

What would you suggest? Make the decors out of carton boxes? It's TOS that is out of date, not Enterprise.
The story of the Enterprise finale is out on startrek.com, they remade some TOS decors for it.. I hope I like it, didn't like the TOS episode in DS9.

tvguide.com had an article that the sci fi channel might pick up enterprise to keep it from cancelling. Not sure how positive this is yet though but there might be hope yet.

I wrote a bitchey EMail to UPN, and this is all the cowards would reply:
Hello,
Thank you for writing to UPN. The STAR TREK legacy has spanned nearly four decades and has spawned five television series. Ten years ago, STAR TREK: VOYAGER was instrumental in helping launch UPN.
The latest incarnation, STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE, has reached the culmination of its journey. This painstaking decision came after it was recognized that despite having many loyal fans like you, the audience for the show was declining steadily. Therefore, ENTERPRISE is set to decommission and will be given a grand send-off on Friday, May 13th at 8 PM ET/PT on UPN.
This does not mean that STAR TREK is gone forever. Paramount, the studio that produced all five television series and ten feature films, is looking forward to the next chapter of the STAR TREK saga.
We know that this information may not make you feel any better but we want you to know how much we appreciate your input and we sincerely hope that you will continue to share your thoughts with us in the future.
Cordially,
UPN

They realized they made the worst ST(And probably SF)-series ever, and they're cancelling it. Big deal?

TrekUnited Recieves $3,000,000 Donation
Quote: |
TrekUnited.com today announced that three anonymous contributors have stepped forward with a $3 million pledge toward the campaign to ensure a fifth season for the recently cancelled Star Trek: Enterprise.
Paramount Network Television and the United Paramount Network (UPN) jointly announced on Feb. 3 that this would be the last season of Enterprise on UPN. Fans pooled their skills, time and finances to form TrekUnited.com in an effort to fight the decision by raising money themselves to pay for a fifth season of the on-going space adventure.
The benefactors also added a statement explaining why they believe this campaign deserves such a substantial contribution:
"We think Star Trek and especially its latest incarnation, "Enterprise" is the kind of TV that should be aired more often. The people responsible at Paramount think this is just a show and we want to tell them, it is not. We are in the commercial space flight industry and would like to testify that at least one out of two of all the actual entrepreneurs involved in this industry has been inspired by Star Trek; and we are not only good at watching TV sci-fi , we are also good at writing checks, big checks. The people airing this kind of TV have a responsibility; inspiration. Star Trek has inspired us, and particularly Enterprise, with its superb theme song that tells so much about our struggle to move space travel forward and closer to the public, this inspiration is so self evident, that Virgin Galactic has ordered a 5-sub orbital ship fleet from Scaled Composites, a 100 million dollar investment, and the first one being built is going to be christened ‘VSS Enterprise.’ Now doesn’t that ring a bell in Paramount’s ears? Now, canceling the series so bluntly, for the sake of just ratings, tells very much about the kind of thinking going on inside Paramount. If we thought the same way, Paul Allen would have never funded the SpaceShipOne program. Sir Richard Branson would never have funded Virgin Galactic and Space Adventures would never have put two space tourists aboard the International Space Station. Instead, we would all be at home watching Survivor or some other reality TV show. Enterprise needs to be renewed, for the sake of fan loyalty, for being quality TV, for bringing imagination and hope for a better future to our homes, but over all that, for inspiring us so strongly that we have fought all our adult lives to bring that future closer to our children and to us."
TrekUnited Director Tim Brazeal also stated contributions like this one brings the campaign much closer to its goal. "We are overwhelmed at the generosity of these fellow Star Trek fans," Brazeal said. "We believe that Enterprise deserves a future. With contributions like the one from these generous individuals and those of millions of other Star Trek fans worldwide, we will succeed."
Under the terms of the TrekUnited charter, the campaign will be able to give the money to anything that will guarantee a fifth season of Star Trek: Enterprise.

Wow, I wonder how the actors feel about this.

Has anyone watched episodes 18 and 19 of season 4 yet?
When episode 18 started I thought WTF!? Completely unexpected and nice to see such a dramatic twist for these two episodes.
Also nice to see humans kicking ass and taking names.
