Yeah, you can change difficulty anytime, even in the middle of the combat, and it really changes.

No, we have no bears on the streets here in Russia.

I wasn't really interested in the DLC, mainly because most DLC for most games (imo) suck.

.....then I peeked at the descriptions for the DLC available for this game and....well...wow

However, the wife needs the net for the rest of the day (connection sucks with a router) and I'd like to acquire the DLC rather quickly....but don't have time to scrap 10 pages of forum instructions together

anyone have a link to a site that gives direction (NOT LOCATIONS OF DOWNLOADABLE FILES) for how to install each pack?

Lastly, can they be installed and implemented mid story? Or will a new character be required?

Does anyone know how enemy levels are generated? Is it generated based on level of highest party member or if its based on player character?

Sabin:

Your links worked great. I got all of them installed.

I also found the AddIns file, however, there is no "auth" to be found....nor any 0's or 1's

If you've installed the dazips via the DAUpdate app, inside AddIns.xml there WILL be a line that reads "RequiresAuthorization" -- I just shortened it to "Auth" because that's all you need to type in for search to find it ^_^

However, this is moot anyway. We've all since discovered that even setting "RequiresAuthorization="0"" means nothing, the DLCs that need authorisation will still need it - you just won't get the visibility cue Wink

Check the AddIns.xml file inside "C:\Users\USER\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Settings"

And of course they state the same as me, they stole the info from myself and WiCKed666. Bloody pirates Cool Face

....reisntalled.....no auth

So you are stating that I should (in theory) be able to utilize the scripts and items IN the game as intended, but I won't SEE them as added in the DLC menu within the game?

No.... I'm saying the ones that require authorisation (they're clearly marked in the post) will not work. At all. Not right now, anyhow. The Authorisation line was what we, erroneously, thought would disable the need for authorisation. We were wrong Sad If you don't edit the line, the DLC shows up as installed but "Requires Authorisation" tag on them. Editing that AddIns.xml file removes the tag, so we thought we'd sussed it ... but ingame nothing works.

You're probably searching for "auth" with case sensitivity on. You're gonna facepalm us to death.

Anyway, it doesn't work, don't change anything in that file.

And now you are indeed mainstream'd. Facepalm yourself to death, go ahead...please.

Alright, I'm sure this has been answered before, but then again we are at page 115 and I really don't feel like going through all of them (altough I have read through many).

So, I have "demoed" the game for a few hours, and amazingly enough it turns out to be the one single player only game that I'm willing to actually pay for. It's just that good. I assume that installing a legit version involves uninstalling the current one. I do however *not* want to lose my current save games. So, how can I make sure those get transitioned to the new installation? Will copy/paste do, and if so, where are those saves stored?

IMO? Yes, definitely. It's cheap enough and offers a nice quest line, a bunch of loot, and a storage chest.

You should have a codex entry (look for the books, tab helps). It's fairly easy.

Has the bug - where your damage output with daggers as a rogue doesn't increase when putting points into DEX - been mentioned already? That it only increases when you gain STR? It's supposed to be 0.5 STR and 0.5 DEX taken into account but at the moment it's 1.0 STR. Hurray for my dagger-wielding rogue

Backup the files at my documents\Bioware\Dragon Age\Characters. Maybe your profile, too.
Actually, just copy the whole Dragon Age folder somewhere and reinstall using the real cdkey.
