Well, they got me. Twice.
Just had both consoles banned. One was my main, used a lot. One was a backup, rarely used.
They were both in the middle of the banwave and I connected to Live! just fine. Then I took them offline (disconnected cable) and played the rrod release of mw2.
Just dc'd my hdd and did a network test on both, and they are both banned.
Not saying rrod-mw2 is at fault here, but the evidence is really pointing at that. I know people are playing online with rrod-mw2 just fine and are not banned, but damn, seems like as soon as that disc went in, I was done for.
First machine was a newer LiteOn with ix1.6
Second machine was an older LiteOn with ix1.6
Oh well, had a good run.

I might just not even bother playing MW2 on Xbox 360, fuck that it seems to be the game thats getting everyone banned. I know a few people that all said the last game they played was MW2 before they got banned.
Oh well. I'll just get it legit for PS3. And play it on that. I'm not putting any scene release of MW2 on my system.
What concerns me is we don't even know for sure if MW2 is the reason for the bannings. MS might have a new way of detecting back ups. Because way to many people are getting caught, more then ever before. Some have never even played MW2, then BAM banned.
STo0z can you still save games? Atleast? You said you had your HDD disconnected when you found out you got banned. So no HD installs anymore even though your HD was not connected?

Well I wasn't really sure what people were talking about shit getting corrupted on your hdd due to console ban, so I made sure to remove hdd before the console knew it was banned.
I'm assuming I can now get a new 360 and plop the old hdd on it just fine and still have all my stuff.

It's a ban tsunami. The dodgy 360 that I've been using for the last few months has now RROD'd again so I can't check it's online status this morning. I'm going to try to resurrect it again for one last time later today to see if it's banned or not.

Ok, i have read a LOT of reports of people getting banned even for just flashing their drive and then playing a original, i am curious if its only the MW2 release or if microsoft can detect every flashed drive.
Quote: | Not to talk like a retard but were pretty much ****ed..... My console arrived like 7 hours ago, i flashed it with 1.6, placed a ORIGINAL Skate 2 disk just to test out the drive and BAM, im banned instantly...
Also, i believe that the hard disk thing is real sense i had my Main account hard drive attached to it... the VOJVA one... heres a pic: http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/7139/img0043cr.jpg

Hmmm. I have a question. If you get banned and all HD installs get corrupted, is it possible to create a new profile and then do HD installs from that profile?
Hardware: Ryzen 3700x, B450 MSI Gaming Pro carbon AC, GTX1080, 32 GB 3200 Mhz cas 14, 256 EVO SSD, 1 TB EVO SSD and 4 TB HDD.
Console: xbox, wii and xbox 360

Someone else sugggested that it was on this board earlier, maybe even in this thread you'd have to look for it. Whether it's true or not I don't know.

Hm, here's some thoughts and questions:
On Monday, i got a new 60gb harddrive (been using my 20gb since 2006).
I last played Wednesday night, not banned. My bought LCE Forza 3.
Now, I haven't connected to Live or started my 360 since wednesday, so if i'm banned, the box does not know about it. So my profile and saves can't be corrupted.
I do not have the migration kit for the harddrive yet, since it's kinda a pain in the ass to get it (print out a damn PDF ASKING to get a transfer kit, fill it out, send it to ENGLAND, wait for it to be sent to me).
But can I connect my 20gb to my PC, with say Xplorer360 or similar (never done anything like that before) and backup all my data, then copy it to the 60gb drive (and not use it on my current box), then buy an non-flashed Arcade and bam, im back in business. Im uncertain if the HDD/PC backup can be detected, but im thinking no? Downloaded saves can get you banned though, right? Not that im going to, just curious.

Heres a question, as im a bit in the dark as its my first time ban woo lol.
Just been out and got a new Elite, now im wanting to keep the same gamertag with all my DLC on, just my console has been banned and not gamertag. If i recover the gamertag, is there any chance my new console could get banned?
I don't fancy paying for a new Elite for it days later to become almost useless.

If its unflashed your safe as houses , the second you flash it your fair game ( Only console bans with this wave so your gamertag should be fine )
dlc should be ok if you haven't downloaded to another machine bar your banned one ( you can share arcades and dlc with one other person for example ) . If you have you will need to license transfer your purchases

I dfidn't want to print the form out either so I just called them and they ordered it for me over the phone. I got the email with the tracking number the next day, but I still don't have the transfer kit 2 weeks later. I just borrowed a mates memory card and transfered my profile and saves that way.

Hm, yeah I thought about that too, but i don't have a memory unit (nor do i know of anyone who has one) and I have not bought the new 360 yet. I'd just like to have my 20gb backed up incase my current 360 is banned.
Then again, i have two 20gb drives. So maybe i'll go online with other one (never really played on it, just tested the NXE with it when the NXE was released on the net.)

People who got banned are so fast to buy and flash new consoles, don't you think it's pretty bad course of action? Because previous assumptions that flashed FW isn't detected, and playing verified games is safe isn't true any more.
You can still pirate games on your banned one, and if you really need online features use your newly bought 360 just for online and don't mod it, buying a few great online games once a year won't kill you.

well my buddy just got banned yesterday. and he doesent have any of the new wave 4 games yet. he doesent play any of the games before street date ether. he was playing ncaa football. then he got dissconnected. when he tryed to reconnect it said his console was banned.
(benq 1.51 firmware) and he dosent install games on his HDD. pretty sure his latest new game was forza 3 but he didnt play that untill 2 days after the street date. anyhoo he was playing ncaa football(not online but connected to live)when he got banned. and yes all of his games pass the stealth cheak and are all the proper group releses. HOW DOES M$ DECTECT THIS SHIT!
im guessing that flashed FW is detected..

Yes but the question is, can they really detect modded DVD drives or is this the aftermath of playing borderlands/Forza/Cod6 early?
I also got a 'new' xbox 360 with a benq drive but i aint flashing shit till i know what is going on cause i also am afraid m$ found a way to detect those drives.

if you read my post my friend only has forza 3 and played it after street date like all of his other games. and is still on 1.51 benq. so no its not because you play a game before street date. YES playing before street date is a big RED FLAG, but no they are doing it some other way too. and he even removes the HDD when he playes games before street date.

I remember like a year or two ago Microsoft asked the firmware guys to their HQ. No idea why they did that but it happened.

Some guy confirmed that this works, if you back up your Nand before ban and then get banned, you can simply restore your Nand back up and install to HDD feature will work again.
