It bothers me that you cant have a charisma based wizard like in D&D to get high enough persuasion skills needed for some quests.

I dont wanna lvl up cunning as I need the 2 major magic attributes for my mage. And, well, intimidate doesnt really work for a mage either.

Starting area for warrior is about as boring as I've ever seen. Reminds me of the typical mmo, with stupid quests included.

warrior is generally boring class to play in singleplayer rpg, what did u expect ; d

I expected more, since it is Bioware =( Pika!

*shrug* I actaully enjoy a warrior.
Besides that, with a party of 4 and multiple skills to juggle it gets interesting fast enough Smile

Most of the "DLC" are just starting equipment that while powerful then and quite helpful will be outgrown quite fast, or that's my experience of the items I've tested, some will of course be helpful a bit longer than others.

The two main DLC Stone Prisoner and Blood Dragon Armor are given to everyone (Along with the memory ring.) via redeem codes to use on the official website (Social.bioware.com) although the Stone Prisoner (Was it Guardian?) is also available for a extra 15$ whereas the second DLC Wardens Keep is for the CE or digitial deluxe editions or 7$ so there isn't that much content although all the item packs makes it look a bit bigger than it is. Very Happy
(Of course more stuff will definitively be added later on and also by other users when the toolset is available, making addins like the above will be possible as will everything from smaller "modules" to full campaigns, unsure about modding existing stuff but it has a override folder in the Documents\Bioware\ folder so that's probably doable as well for smaller mod-like changes and tweaks.)

I don't know for sure actually but I thought it did with the digital deluxe edition being basically a downloadable CE. Smile
(Soundtrack and wallpapers as a extra download as far as I've noted with the full CE item addition and the two DLC plus the purchase bonuses of the blood dragon armor and memory ring, thought the CE was basically the same but perhaps with a map in the game box and maybe metal instead of plastic material for the box itself.)

I have the digital deluxe edition (preodered it), and it comes with two redeem codes to download some items AND warden's keep and stone prisoner, you do not need to pay anything extra. I also preordered with D2D, so it also comes with blood dragon armor. The blood dragon armor will also be available with Mass Effect 2 when it comes out.
Also for extra $5, it also came with prima game guide, 300 pages of walkthrough, and lots of info on secrets, bonus stuff and character creation info.

Wardens Keep is CE only. I would suspect it's also in the boxed CE.

My boxed CE will be coming in tomorrow.

First game I've bought in a long long time Smile

Don't really care about the DLC as I'll probably burn a dvd with the game/crack/alldlcwhencracked and include it in the box (calling it Yarrrr! edition).
EA store isn't getting a dime from me, the mere mention of it turns my stomach.

So about "authorization required" DLCs, can anyone confirm it does work offline after obtaining authorization by entering legit redeem codes/purchasing for points?

Without logging in/internet connection? As far as i understand that's how devs say it works...

And i find it highly unlikely that there's a full-scale hardware-bound activation hidden there just for DLCs considering main game is so poorly protected...(though that'd be a smart move hehe).

So if it really does work offline we should presume there's a simple "DLC X authorized" flag stored somewhere.

From looking around files i guess a likely place would be Profile.dap

Might be that file, as far as I know it's all server side though, log in and it'll be authorized, other profile logs in and it will return to be unathorized, if you go offline after being authorized withotu changing the profile it might also work due to perhaps that profile file being saved and containing that information.
(Might be possible to swap the file but a reader or viewer of what it contains would be safer, wouldn't exactly want Bioware to get ahold of it and banning you though it depends on what it contains, can't see much from a hex editor aside from some achievements and enabled DLC.)

there are some situations when i start the game and my account login process has not been completed yet and when i try to resume my save game, a message will pop up saying that i need to login with the account with the DLCs. so i am guessing that it does require you to login with the correct account with the DLCs.

btw i bought the 2 DLCs using the points purchase thing.

Hey, how come...Eastore + Steam sell the Digital Deluxe for ~55 euros

and..direct to drive UK sell it only for ~40 euros ???

in Poland eastore sell digital deluxe for 169 PLN - thats is ~40 euro and yes you can chose which language you download - i got en_UK
and in uk there is digital deluxe version for 40 pounds not euro

Omg...I think when I checked it this morning it was 35 pounds for DD and 30 pounds for the normal version...

Yeah, now I see 40 pounds for DD. So, that's almost 45 euros. Well still 10 euros cheaper than EA US and Steam ^^

I may try to get it from Poland though, nice find ^^

It will warn you if you load a game with previous DLC content being deactivated or missing, bit strange that it would also warn you about it even when you are not logged in, perhaps that profile file isn't a full version of the information available server-side about your character.
(Well of course there are other things such as your account information alongside it but surely the downloaded content should be playable offline once it's been authorized?)

Now do a rip of your installation folder, excluding unnecessary data, and including Windows registry key for the game and we are good to go. Wink

It might work with the .daprofile file but who knows what information it contains, wouldn't want to risk the account gettind disabled or something like that and it might not work even with that.

Nonsense. I barely had any points in Cunning and Strength on my mage, and they had Persuade and Intimidation prompts come up fairly regularly. I'm level 10 and not gimped my Willpower and Magic and still manage to have 16 strength and 14 cunning. . .enough for Coercion II. It really doesn't pay to stress so much about attributes. The game isn't going to cheat you if you put 3 points into each here and there over 24 levels. Plus:

Well, someone who got the DLCs authorized could try to install the game on a second computer, keeping it disconnected from the internet. Then install the DLCs and copy over the profile.dap file to see if that would work.

Ah well, maybe I stress too much about those. Buts what can I say. I used to do so in every AD&D game by Bioware.

Naturally it's possible it contains account info so could get account banned if widely shared. And likely no-one has _all_ DLCs authorized...
Btw looks it also contains stuff like achievements etc - not to nice to have someone else's profile in any case.

It's only to a possible direction in which we can try digging.

_That_ specific file doesn't seem encrypted so if guess is correct then by comparing a copy pre/past authorization suspect flag bytes can be easily identified even without proper editor.

Well, loading a save game isn't a too thorough test... Could you start a new game and see if you'd still get one of authorization-only items?
