from what I've seen, the interface is action based, is it possible to play from an isometric point of view?

Yes it is. But its not far away enough to be able to see everything properly (like far off archers etc.)

I completely agree with you, I have only played for 2 hours with my mage and there is so much to do and read up on in the tower, That's why I'm still there btw. Very Happy

so basicly it's better to play in the 'close' view then zoom out..

a bit of a shame imo

Just wondering. What's the small application in crack folder in SKIDROW release. There is crack and the small application. Both of them I coppied to folder of the game. Is this small application some tool to past authorization process or so?

My warrior is lvl9 now, and does anyone else here feel that using and speccing for a shield doesn't really make much of a difference? :< I have a two handed guy with me and he does loads more damage but ALSO takes almost as much damage as my shield specced guy... And to top it off, my shield specced character has better armor.

I definitely wish I hadn't gone shield spec...

Well, it's not really a shame, you can always just move the camera around if you want. But the isometric viewpoint is just made to make it easier to handle hoards, when you're surrounded by mobs and they're all over you. Easier to target them. Archers on the other hand are very easy to target since they usually don't stand toe to toe with you.

This game is meant to be played from a over-the-shoulder view, the isometric view is only there to occasionally help you gain some oversight.

aha ok, that will be a bit getting used to, I was hoping to have a good isometric point of view :/

Here's a link for the Gametrailers review http://www.gametrailers.com/video/review-hd-dragon-age/58517

I really do hate that Gametrailer site. If you watch this review you will hear the fuckers complaining about the game's length being ridiculously long in this day and age! WTF??? So now we have to complain about longer than normal game length?? It's so obvious that the site has made a pact with a console loving homosexual dwarf Wink

And the only other technical stuff they mention, is how the console works. I say, Let's do a Jihad on their fucked up heads (Or maybe just a massive attack on their servers).

It's not that I hate consoles, but I do hate all these "serious" game review sites that just won't be honest about their hate for pc gaming, all this sneaking the hate in here and there just feels like cowardly guerilla attacks on pc gaming.

FUCK EM AND THEIR MTV OWNER FOR TRYING TO KILL OFF PC GAMING AND BRAINWASHING A NEW GENERATION!!!
Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

You think Gametrailers is bad? Go to the official Dragon Age forums and find a couple of douchebags saying that they can't play the game due to ugly graphics. Surprised Mad

Just for Info on performance:

I'm playing on Q9550 and 8800GT and the game runs at 30-50 fps @1680x1050 8xAA and 16xAF in Lothering.

Maybe in some morecrowded areas I'll need to revert to 4xAA. But anyway this game is much better optimised then f.e. NVN2. if even the 8800GT can play it so well.

The game is really very polished in every aspect. They just shouldnt have gone with that DLC crap. Sad

I suggest you play Divinty2 first. Dragone Age is better (from my personal POV) but Divinity2 is pretty nice aswell.

If you play Divinity2 now, you can enjoy DA later with full DLCs (if they are cracked by then).

Oh my fucking GOD this game is in-depth! Seriously, there's just so much info to know, so much to accomplish in game! Hell, I only just found out that you gain perks, skills and permanent bonuses to stats and other skills -- just by improving your relationship with other characters.

Bioware rules once more, as they always have. Roll on ME2!

hmm that's a good idea

both are more or less the same concept? action based, not old school isometric, right?

DA:O is more or less an oldschool RPG. You have to micromanage a party, listen to lots of conversation. But the story is (in my opinion) more epic and the game alot more deep and challenging.

Divinity2 is based on one character only, and more fast-paced. But its still epic enough to fully enjoy.

Aye, play Div 2 first (as I just said in the Div 2 thread) as you'll finish it quicker than you would do DA:O. Shorter doesn't necessarily mean "worse", as the game itself is spectacular and took me over 40hrs to finish, but it's definitely shorter than DA:O.
