so you are saying warden's keep dlc and the rest which require authorisation will NOT work even in a legit copy bought from EA store?

If you haven't got a legitimate DLC code for those, or you haven't specifically bought them from the Bioware store, then no; they won't work. You have to be "authorised" which means you have to either have a redemption code (comes with certain copes if DAO) or you have to add points to your account and purchase them separately.

The download links I have put up are merely for "as and when" they're cracked.

damn, I really hope those two game content packs DLC things get cracked. I'd like to play the 'full' game, and there's no way I want to support this kind of bullshit day-1 paid DLC.

i seriously doubt that these 2 main game content DLCs will ever get cracked if not that easily. since to unlock these DLCs , it need to go thru server authentication.

Dude, if you would support the game, it's just one content pack that needs cracking. The Stone Prisoner comes free with all legit brand new copies of the game. Buy the game, then talk about bullshit day 1 paid DLC.

Jesus that was convoluted... and annoying to boot. Three payments later, I am now the proud owner or 1760 EAWare points. Time to get me some Stone Prisoner/Warden's Keep lovin'!

And yes, I'm going to do my best to find out exactly WHAT changes between now - and buying/downloading the DLC, so that I can share the love <3

Yes.

I do think these are going to be hard to crack, however. I continually check the log files and it seems that DAO disabled addins that it detects you are not entitled to (read: the ones that require authorisation) This is what it used to say;

Code:

OnlineFeatures   Wallet balance requested.
OnlineFeatures   Login successful.
OnlineFeatures   Entitlements requested.
OnlineFeatures   Wallet balance received (0).
OnlineFeatures   Entitlements received: DAO_PRC_PROMO_EMB.
OnlineFeatures   Disabled AddIn: DAO_PRC_PROMO_C2.

I read the log again a few mins ago and now it reads;

Code:

OnlineFeatures   Wallet balance requested.
OnlineFeatures   Login successful.
OnlineFeatures   Entitlements requested.
OnlineFeatures   Wallet balance received (1760).
OnlineFeatures   Entitlements received: DAO_PRC_PROMO_EMB.
OnlineFeatures   Purchase request: OFB-DRGN:17762.
OnlineFeatures   Purchase successful.
OnlineFeatures   Wallet balance requested.
OnlineFeatures   Entitlements requested.
OnlineFeatures   Wallet balance received (1200).
OnlineFeatures   Entitlements received: DAO_PRC_NRX_1, DAO_PRC_PROMO_EMB.
OnlineFeatures   Wallet balance requested.
OnlineFeatures   Wallet balance received (1200).
OnlineFeatures   Enabled AddIn: DAO_PRC_NRX_1.
OnlineFeatures   Wallet balance requested.
OnlineFeatures   Wallet balance received (1200).
OnlineFeatures   Wallet balance requested.
OnlineFeatures   Wallet balance received (1200).
OnlineFeatures   Wallet balance requested.
OnlineFeatures   Wallet balance received (1200).
OnlineFeatures   Purchase request: OFB-DRGN:17763.
OnlineFeatures   Purchase successful.
OnlineFeatures   Wallet balance requested.
OnlineFeatures   Entitlements requested.
OnlineFeatures   Wallet balance received (0).
OnlineFeatures   Entitlements received: DAO_PRC_CP_2, DAO_PRC_NRX_1, DAO_PRC_PROMO_EMB.
OnlineFeatures   Enabled AddIn: DAO_PRC_NRX_1.

And each login now checks again, and reports back "Entitlements received: DAO_PRC_CP_2, DAO_PRC_NRX_1, DAO_PRC_PROMO_EMB"

NRX_1 being "Warden's Keep", CP_2 being "Stone Prisoner" and EMB being "Embrie's Many Pockets" (from the Journey's DLC) So yeah, it's definitely doing some online checking in order to enable or disable authorised DLC.

Ok, I just checked. It downloaded the same files we did, put them into TEMP while it was working on extracting and installing them, then deleted the tempory files and modified the AddIns.xml to add the exact same information we've been doing.

There's nothing wrong with the files we uploaded, the ones linked to in my sig, they're just not going to work when DAO can't authorise them :-\ Someone is going to need to find a way to remove the authorisation requirement. Sorry guys Sad Sad

Unless encrypted (Like Westgate) modifying the ERF and CIF information files should work for that, of course at the moment the available editors are for version 1.0 and 1.1 whereas these are version 2.0 to 2.2 from what I can see.
(They're pretty much the same as the NWN/NWN 2 files in terms of functionality so editing them should work fine once a viewer or the toolset is available.)

Depends on what has to be stripped out of course, in the worst case the folder name and similar might need changing to make it into a new module, pretty easy to rename the folder and rename it (_02 instead of _2 for example), copy the relevant info from the XML and edit it to read the new changes though this might disable certain online functionality like achievements but this is pretty minor if it means the "module" will function. Smile
(Just guesses and speculation for now, doing the above without altering the content don't work so it's something in there that alters it.)

In an even worse situation than that the scripts related to authorization are hardcoded to the main game but removing them by manually editing the files might still work unless they're encrypted.
(Which they don't seem to be as I can see much of the content via hex editing.)

Thanks for the effort, Sabin1981.

I would do the same as you and just buy the content, but I'm not sure if I should attach a pirated version of the game to a legit EA account, Name, Adress and everything included.

You can enable console with -enabledeveloperconsole and then run scripts with runscript (the console wont show up on your screen but it does open with tilde)

There are some dlc related scripts but nothing helpful so far

GetPRCEnabled(string sPRCName = "") = 828;

Some BioWareDev on the topic of not being able to run DLC while offline:
Quote:

You DO NOT have to be connected to the internet to play Dragon Age: Origins or to use the DLC (once it is installed. You do need to be connected to download it, obviously). If a game owner logs in with an account that owns the DLC, and has a proper DA cd key in your registry you shouldn’t have to re-authenticate.

If the DLC is not working correctly for you, please check to see if your cd key is registered with the following.

To check if the user has a proper cd key installed:
1) Run the DA config utility
2) If the left bar navigate to the ‘Game’ section
3) Look at the Product Keys section which is in the lower half of the window.
4) The users DA cd key should be listed here

If there is no CD key listed this is the reason you are being forced to authenticate every time. Assuming you installed via dvd, on the installation disk in the data folder is ‘Dragon Age_code.exe’ which you can run an re-enter their cd key.

Some dude's reply:
Quote:

Offline use is now fully functional on my install.
Here is how to fix the problem if you do not have the DVD.
Open regedit.
Go to the following key:
32 bit :HKLM\Software\Electronic Arts\Electronic Arts\Dragon Age
64 bit :HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\Electronic Arts\Dragon Age

Add a new key called "ergc".
Set the (default) value of said key to your cd key, including dashes.
Check in the config program the cd key is recognized.
If it is, run the game and log in once.
Next time you start the game, the content is authorized even without logging in.

Does this help?

Also, if an internet connection is not needed.. that means the content doesn't get verified if you isolate the client exe from the web and it's a local issue, amirite? (Although. Probably not. 'Cause I have only very little idea of what I'm talking about. Very Happy)

Here's a link for the Gametrailers review http://www.gametrailers.com/video/review-hd-dragon-age/58517

I really do hate that Gametrailer site. If you watch this review you will hear the fuckers complaining about the game's length being ridiculously long in this day and age! WTF??? So now we have to complain about longer than normal game length?? It's so obvious that the site has made a pact with a console loving homosexual dwarf Wink

And the only other technical stuff they mention, is how the console works. I say, Let's do a Jihad on their fucked up heads (Or maybe just a massive attack on their servers).

It's not that I hate consoles, but I do hate all these "serious" game review sites that just won't be honest about their hate for pc gaming, all this sneaking the hate in here and there just feels like cowardly guerilla attacks on pc gaming.

FUCK EM AND THEIR MTV OWNER FOR TRYING TO KILL OFF PC GAMING AND BRAINWASHING A NEW GENERATION!!!
