I've been playing for about 15 hours and I've only had 12 gold pieces at most. Money is insanely hard to come by Crying or Very sad

I must be doing something wrong Laughing

pickpocket, do the quests from the boards, most of them pay 2-3 gold pieces each. sell any shit you don't need and don't buy carelessly - apart from special equipment stuff or maybe some ingredients i never needed to buy anything.

Try to set AnisotropicFilteringLevel=0 to 8 or 16 DragonAge.ini in your Settings dir. If that doesn't work, force it via your graphics drivers. Makes stuff look better and has basically no impact on performance.

Hmm, anyone knows if it's possible to change the product key (the one you enter before installing the game) without reinstalling the game? I'm curious because I don't want to reinstall once my legal copy (with a legal key) arrives.

You can change the key in regedit.

Thanks! I actually looked there, but missed the "Electronic Arts" entry because there's also a Bioware one. Laughing

I tried doing this with my game but it didn't work. If you goto the config tool and look at your cd-key you'll see it doesn't change. Not that it really matters though. As long as you login and attach the real cd-key to your bioware account.

This game is amazing. Got my copy from Amazon in the mail this afternoon ... I don't think I'll be going to work tomorrow. I'm playing as a Human Noble Warrior (boring, but a lot of fun for me).

First time I shield bashed someone to the floor I fell in love. I think I'm going to rock the shield spec the entire game, even if it is crappy damage. It's just fun!

Anyone else pre-order on Amazon? If so, how did they send your pre-order DLC codes?

Right now I just need the Warden's Keep DLC and life will be good, just not sure I want to buy it or not yet. Yeah, it's only $7, but I kinda think it should have been in the game from the beginning.

Oh, and thanks for that anisotropic filtering tip, smocc. Looks a lot better!

Don't you get specialisation points at levels 7 and 14? You use those points to buy your specialisation classes :\

You have to talk to an NPC that can teach you that stuff, which is possible after level 7 and 14.

Don't you have to unlock them during your play? Get someone to train you or find a book that trains you.

Ripped from a WBB thread, more bonus stuff, supposedly the CE content.

http://na.llnet.bioware.cdn.ea.com/u/p/eagames/bioware/dragonage/content/DAO_PRC_PROMO_ME/DAO_PRC_PROMO_ME_1.0.dazip

Quote:

These are the collector's edition bonuses (Three items, one package. Bergen's Honor, Final Reason, Grimoire of the Frozen Waste) and the Blood Dragon Armor respectively.

Untested, might require authorization.
(My keys for bonus content were shipped a while ago though, still haven't progressed far enough to find Shale or the Keep and I can't find anything that differs when you authorize a DLC so it's probably kept server side with your profile, atleast until a editor for the ERF and CIF files allows modding the content directly.)

Already got them mate, they're in my sig ^_^ The CE stuff does, sadly, require authorisation - but the Blood Dragon Armour works flawlessly.

question is will all the leaked DLCs (whether requiring AUTH or not) work in the legit copy of dragon age origins

anyone tested and can confirm it?

i'm thinking of getting the standard edition without most of the DLC and thinking whether i can install the leaked dlcs.

All the ones that don't require authorisation will work, regardless of what version you have and where you got it from. The only ones that won't, so far, are the authorisation ones (there's a bunch of items that are vendor-specific preorder items - they require authorisation - and the two major DLC packs, as well as the Collectors Edition DLC, that require authorisation too)

My apologies if my earlier post was a little unclear, I've since edited it to add some clarification.

Stone Prisoner will work when authorized (Registered the game with a account on social.bioware.com and used the redeem code for it and possible the Blood dragon armor which should come with all copies of the game.) but the others that require authorization won't work, however the items that doesn't will work without any problems. Smile

EDIT: Sabing posted already. Razz

so you are saying warden's keep dlc and the rest which require authorisation will NOT work even in a legit copy bought from EA store?

can we say that even if we have these leaked DLCs , we still need the redeem code to unlock it?
