Thers a very good balance of talking with NPCS and fighting, you can talk alot or choose to skip ahead and get to the fighting.. I myself very much enjoy all the options you get in all the conversations!

Delete your addins.xml file you've likely broken it by not saving as UTF-8. The updater thing will make a new one for you.

4 hours in and it's a fantastic game! HIGH production values! This is Lord of the Rings compared to all the other crap that is In the Name of the King A Dungeon Siege Tale!! LOL! Great dialogue and character creation. I almost, almost look exactly like my character! I named him after my son though! He's my doppelganger! What can be said about the graphics..........hmmm......perfect...yep, that pretty much says it all. The combat is fun and I love my shield bash! Very cool to knock them down. Unfortunately I won't be using it very long because I am putting everything towards Dual Wield!!!

Thanks Bioware!

MD

Yup, to me this is looks like gonna be the best western RPG ever. Amount of polish is so above all the other RPGs released recently it's insane. I won't even mention gameplay, story, voice acting or anything else because it's all top notch.

I agree, this could very well be the best RPG "I" have ever played! Just think, Bioware has Mass Effect 2 coming out as well! GASP! Bioware is an unreal, insanely talented studio!

They won't work, none of the DLCs that require authentication work.

I would really like to have the wardens keep dlc. I dont care much for a few bonus items. The game is full of items anyway.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Wow I really underestimated this game. I was quite skeptical after playing Mass Effect but this game is amazing! Not too original or complex but still has that old-school Bioware feel to it.

No, the micro-DLC is inconsequential. All those little trinkets are good for starting characters, but you find much better. The only ones we really want, and don't appear to work just yet, are the two Quest DLCs; Warden's Keep and Stone Prisoner.

The game is HEAVY on the talking. Sometimes you will get into dialog trees for no other reason than to find out about the life of a oil saleswoman in Orlais and how she had to flee because she wasn't going to be raped by an Orlesian Chevalier. . .which apperantly is considered a right of the chevaliers. Has zero (so far) impact on the game other than to inform you about the history of the game.

If it bothers you that much (personally, I LOVE the gore!) you can either disable persistent gore .. or you can just remove and reequip your armour Wink

The Stone Prisoner includes: (1) Shale, a unique and powerful golem, as a recruitable party member who is fully integrated into the main Dragon Age: Origins campaign. (2) Brand new plots and adventure areas. (3) Fantastic new items.

Warden's Keep includes: (1) A fun dungeon-delving adventure; (2) A set of ancient Grey Warden armor, complete with heraldry; (3) A chance to gain two of six mysterious new abilities. (4) A new base complete with merchants and a party chest to store your hard-earned loot.

So you decide if you are losing a lot or not Smile

Funny that people seem to have a tough time with the "scene" release of this game. What are you mounting the game with?

The only DLC that might have some actual meaning is the Stone Prisoner, where you get Shale as a party member. He/It was originally supposed to be in the game but was cut out, then re-added after the PC release delay at the start of the year.

Just finished Risen and loved it from beginning to end.

Now my question is if Dragon Age or Divinity 2 compare to Risen because it looks like these are more hectic, fast paced games.

Thx
