SAW 6.

hmm.. well, what can you say about this series now? beating a dead horse? getting to repetitive? milking the cow to cash in on the gore hungry teenagers that go see it no matter what every single October? Surprisingly, this seems to go back to the roots a little. SAW 1 was genius executed badly. This is another example, that sadly doesn't hit the mark either. But it's still better than 2-5.

Some genuinely cringeworthy moments of gore, and the usual 'OMG!" parts.

7/10 for enjoyment, if you leave brains and logic at the door I think you will be entertained lightheartedly.

actually, if you look at how jpg compression does damage to the picture, it looks like he skipped the morning shave when lonely and mischievous

You have to look at each pic separately and imagine a scene where he is sarcastic, doubtful, sad, etc. and you'll realize that this was not meant to be funny, it's actually absolutely true Very Happy

This Sad On the whole, I rather enjoyed the first four films in the franchise - but the fifth, and now sixth, were woefully lacking in every way. The latest one (Half-blood Prince) was a disgrace, if you ask me Sad

I still rate the first as the best. It was the closest to the book, while adding a great atmosphere via video that - IMO - captured the book quite nicely, if not "completely" accurate. It only changed the non-essential scenes, and did its best to keep everything else tied. The characters were cast brilliantly, the scenery was gorgeous, the story was fluid and faithful.

Again... IMO Very Happy

Wasn't the third one the best because Alfonso Cuaron treat it as a work for relatively much more mature audience in mind? It was certainly the darkest and most mature of the bunch. The sequels have tried achieving that "mature" feel with desaturated colors and with smaller amount of "ha-ha-not-funny" jokes, and obviously have failed miserably. They should have left the series with Cauron for the entirety of its run. But then again, had that happened, we might not have seen the masterpiece known as Children of Men. Smile

+ a lot

first two were childish crap, fourth wasn't too bad (at least Mike Newell isn't a hack), fifth was teeny bopper 90210 type crap. I guess six is like five? I see 7 and 8 are all directed by the same guy so more crap is in store :/

Well, at least the first two were very good at being "childish crap" and had this charm. Third was decidedly hell of a lot more mature. The rest seem to suffer from bipolar disorder; have the kiddies laughing but desaturate color more and more and tint everything brown to wink at "mature" audience. Smile

Yep. And it kicks the hell out of Zombieland imho.
I was rather disappointed with Zombieland.

Started off good (for me) and then went down hill pretty quick.
Liked the Bill Murray cameo. Liked the opening and the whole sequences of him giving his rules for survival. . . I dunno. Guess I was expecting too much of something else.

In all honesty, i think i am just getting to where I just enjoy watching movies more at home than in a theater. That might have had something to do with it.
