Awesome! Thanks. Hopefully the other DLC pops up shortly as well Very Happy

Loving the game so far, about ~5 hours in. The humour is great, I've laughed out loud several times already which is rare for me. A certain old coot is beyond hilarious.

So basically, ripping/uploading DLC for this is as easy as it is for Fallout 3 -- simply upload the files and modify the addins.xml to point to them? Epic Laughing

Game is out in USA already and we're not gonna see a release in Europe until friday. It's like they're begging us to pirate their stuff. Seriously... publishers are whining about pirates, but they have some half-assed measures that only pisses off their paying customers in the form of intrusive copy protections.

It's funny but in every other business developers of any product do just about anything to cater their customer's smallest needs. Not so regarding software and the irony is that you can't download a car, a dildo or a frying pan...

A lot of those potential euro-customers will now download DA. Some will buy it at release date, some already has pre-ordered, but I know for a fact that many won't bother because now they got the game, it's working ok and when they think of it they might as well spend those 50€ on some new shoes for their girlfriend. Hell then they can play DA and get laid after into the bargain. Maybe they'll pick it up next time they're in town they tell themself, because good games deserves financial support, but they know damned well that's not gonna happen.

I have never bought as many games as after I started using Steam, Impulse, D2D and so on. I believe that if you give people an actual choice more often than not they will keep legit. I have pre-ordered the deluxe version on steam. I'm not 'allowed' to play it until friday. Kind of silly really. Publishers needs to wake up. They need to start taking customers seriously and try to cater to their needs and issues.

I want to play a game at the same time as my american friends. I want to pay the same money and I want digital downloads cheaper. Now I get to pay more, get it later and the publisher profits more in the form of less transportation costs. Nice way to counter piracy, no?

Man that Bioware/EA community feature is a fucking JOKE! Had I bought this game legitimately, I would still be stuck in a fucking account creation loop without the ability to redeem any codes I may have or any DLC I might have been entitled to.

Fuck online accounts. This is why shit needs to be included ON THE DISC, OUT OF THE BOX.

Funnily enough, I was going to buy both sets - which is why I tried to login anyway - only to end up stuck in a goddamn Step 2 loop that almost everyone else on their site seems to be having.

Blegh.

I'm still gonna pick the game up retail though, probably in a few weeks, as I'm having a blast on it right now.

Taffelost: They are not trying to piss customers off, they are afraid if they leave the doors completely open, someone's gonna come in and take their shit. (What a piss-poor analogy.. you get the point though)

They already removed DRM for DAO. That's a HUGE step forward. Mind you, the evil overlords from EA did this! Punishing them by not buying it now for releasing it on different dates will definitely not get them to loosen up further - just the opposite.

Acknowledge the babysteps.

I hope most of you buy this one, its not like we have many other good dev teams bothering with wanting to try and create this sort of rpg game anymore... :/

People try but not always so great.... You can tell bioware love what they do just from the general feel you get when involved in the story lines etc.

Removing DRM was a great move on their part, hopefully it won't come back to bite them. And I'm definitely buying this game, as I always do with the ones I enjoyed immensely. I just download them first and take them for a test drive.

After a while you get used to it. Or for me at least, as most RPGs I've played do have silent pcs. Mass Effect definitely spoiled me a bit though Very Happy

How do you dual-wield? I've got points in the stat, but dragging the weapon doesn't work - it just changes the current one for another.

I'm able to wield a normal one handed weapon AND a dagger. Don't know if later on,you can wield a better second weapon.

<3

Thanks loads, that worked! I hope you can wield larger off-hand weapons later, but this will suffice for now.

There's weapons called Main Hand and One Hand. Only the One Hand can be put in both slots initially, I think there's a talent that lets you equip 2 mainhand weapons.

Aye, I found out earlier. The final rank of Dual Wielding allows you to equip full-size weapons in both hands.
