If BioWare decide to go console only here's one customer that won't buy their products anymore. I have never owned a console in my life and there's nothing even mildly appealing about consoles as far as I'm concerned. We bought a Wii for our kids but I never use it. To prove that I'm serious I can testify that I've never tried Gear of War, neither of the Halo games or any of the other console only blockbusters. I don't even know their names as the first thing I always check before I start following a game is if it will be released to the pc or not. If they decide to port their bigshot titles to the pc 6-12 months later my interest has always faded and I can't even be bothered downloading it for free.
What I don't understand is how they think they will get less piracy on consoles. I mean if everybody stopped developing PC games all the pirates would just move onto the consoles. Nothing is uncrackable/unmodable. I think history has shown us that much. Hell if I were to buy a 360 the first thing I would do would be to send it away for modding. I'd even buy two of them so I could use one for piracy and one for legal stuff. It's not expensive compared to my pc rig anyway.
I understand that developers doesn't want to keep developing software that no one buys though. I'm however confident that DA will sell heaps on the pc. There's also a hell of a lot more flexibility for devs on the pc as a platform. This is not an attempt at a bash at the console as a system. It's simply my opinion.

Sorry, didn't find anything.
Crossing my fingers for a release before the evening, would be nice to get to play this tonight.

I'll play the XBOX360 version with a Dwarven Warrior until the PC version comes out. If this game is as good as they say, and as meaty, by the time I get out of the origins, the PC version will be ready.

I'll just sit here pressing refresh until it comes.
I do have a 360 but I just can't imagine playing the spiritual successor to baldur's gate on a console. That's just wrong.

Yeah, feels slower compared to 360. I'm wondering why it still isn't out, NBA2k10 came out like a week before release date and it even had securom if i remember correctly. This should have been out this morning or so, maybe they're having problem getting hold of a copy.
Anyway only three days left but it would own to play this game in the weekend.

Exactly. There's something fishy going on anyway, because with no protection - there should have at least been a P2P up by now. Meh, no biggie - I have Torchlight! ^_^

There is protection, though nothing invasive.

Oh? I was under the impression it didn't have that :-\ Oh well, guess we'll just have to keep waiting for a scene release then.

My question that might have been asked (and possibly also answered) already: Can you play it like Mass Effect without too much pausing?
Intel Core i7 6700K @ 4.6 GHz | Asus Z170 Pro Gaming | Corsair Vengenace LPX 16GB DDR4 3200 MHz | MSI GeForce GTX 1080 FE | Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB + 250 GB | EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 | Fractal Design Define R5 | Noctua NH-D14

Certainly these fine Computer Programming majors should be clever enough to bypass something as silly as that!

You are not required to pause the game a SINGLE time. You will however die needlessly as some of these fights and encounters will DEMAND you take a more micro-approach to managing your party members and the abilities they are using.
ME could get away with it because it was a hybrid FPS. . .this is a straight top-down RPG.

Yeah that's what I've read, the encounters - even 'normal' fights - are challenging, and rightly so. There's more than enough of hand-holding wimp games for those who want them.

My brother and I always had a philosophy regarding difficulty levels - and it's served us quite well over the years; Start a new game on EASY. Then subsequent playthroughs, increase the difficulty! This allows for up to three playthroughs without the game being identical.
If you start on normal, you're theoretically losing the playthrough on easy as you're not going to want to go back and do it again on an easier setting.

Well DA has similar unlockable abilities etc. that ME had, so subsequent playthroughs are basically easier even if you keep the same difficulty.

That might fit for some people, easy usually means exactly what it says though, and I find theres no challenge in that. Meaning I get bored, I'd rather have a good time and 'lose' a playthrough than being bored with a game.
