Gamersgate still lists it as coming out on Oct 29th.

Correcting people since 2007 even if they're not wrong.

Delayed of course. It was slated for 23rd Oct couple of weeks ago and they just delayed it one week to 29th last friday.
I'm guessing the release is sometimes mid november...just guessing here.

I had it downloaded and installed.
It has Starforce 5.7 according protection ID and it contains protect.dll and the works.
Funnily enough,I can't play it since it asks for a serial key and gamersgate didn't provide me one...yet.

That reg-edit trick would still work wouldn't it?
(Mentioned in the Call of Pripyat thread, basically shows Windows with a different service pack that somehow confuses the SF drivers.)

Do I also need this?

2. Install the driver to bypass the StarForce version 3.6
(probably will work with other versions, but tested only on this).

It´s from Prypat´s nfo.

It's a small release on Gamersgate so far along with a Russian retail copy from what I know, aside from Skidrow (And the NMKY ones.) I don't think anyone has used that site for releases, perhaps Trivium or similar will crack the Russian version available.

Finally got my key,seems they only had limited amount of them.

Some screens from the beginning:

WS support,but those 360 buttons haunt the game and it's FULL of QTE's...
Runs fairly well I guess,over 30 fps when things get hectic.I have to lower some settings to see if it has improvement.

"Average" is the highest possible option and the game is usually locked to 30 FPS albeit this can be disabled, AA takes quite a hit if you use special modes but other than that it plays quite well.

QTE are explained if you lower their difficulty a bit (There's five or so from foolproof to impossible.) and the same can be set for game difficulty, game controls are quite easy as well to learn (Albeit it will display X360 icons aside from QTE.)

Similar to DMC 4 and such but more quick-time events basically. Very Happy

I was under the impression medium was higher than average,since it's categorized as Low->average->medium. Still doesn't make sense though. Very Happy

It did jump at 60 fps once in a while,but this was a rare occasion...mostly it stays at 30-40 fps.
And I would say DMC4 is better,but this game is ok. I find ninjas fighting monsters kinda funny so it's hard for me not to laugh at the game a bit. Razz

Guess I'll have to compare them, thought it was low - medium - average but you might be correct as the order they appear in doesn't match. Razz

EDIT: Might be translation related as well, low being OK, average being mistranslated from medium and medium being mistranslated as high but ingame text seems fine so I'm uncertain about this, need to hack the config file or something.

All the others are quite easy aside from the "Overall quality" value so I compared them.

low:

<document type="dl2_serialize">
<PcSetting version="1">
<dl_int32 value="16" />
<dl_int32 value="1" />
<dl_int32 value="1" />
<dl_int32 value="1" />
<dl_int32 value="0" />
<dl_int32 value="0" />
<dl_int32 value="0" />
<dl_int32 value="0" />
<dl_int32 value="0" />
<dl_int32 value="60" />
<dl_int32 value="1680" />
<dl_int32 value="1050" />
<dl_int32 value="2" />
</PcSetting>
</document>
</xml>

Medium:
<xml>
<document type="dl2_serialize">
<PcSetting version="1">
<dl_int32 value="16" />
<dl_int32 value="1" />
<dl_int32 value="1" />
<dl_int32 value="1" />
<dl_int32 value="0" />
<dl_int32 value="0" />
<dl_int32 value="0" />
<dl_int32 value="0" />
<dl_int32 value="0" />
<dl_int32 value="60" />
<dl_int32 value="1680" />
<dl_int32 value="1050" />
<dl_int32 value="1" />
</PcSetting>
</document>
</xml>

Average:
<xml>
<document type="dl2_serialize">
<PcSetting version="1">
<dl_int32 value="16" />
<dl_int32 value="1" />
<dl_int32 value="1" />
<dl_int32 value="1" />
<dl_int32 value="0" />
<dl_int32 value="0" />
<dl_int32 value="0" />
<dl_int32 value="0" />
<dl_int32 value="0" />
<dl_int32 value="60" />
<dl_int32 value="1680" />
<dl_int32 value="1050" />
<dl_int32 value="0" />
</PcSetting>
</document>
</xml>

They're basically ordered as the options menu lists them, 0 appears to be the highest from comparins quality option for shadows and textures so I guess it's low, medium, average with average being some weird name for high. Razz
(Need to check things a bit more but that's how I see it at the moment.)

It's kinda like the Dark Sector conversion I suppose. Smile
(Or perhaps a bit like RE4\DMC 3 PC, haha.)

EDIT: It's published by the Russian (Unsure actually but somewhere Eastern-Europe) NDSoft and a rather unknown development team as far as I see from the logo movies.
