You can duplicate items:

Go to shop keeper that sells identify scrolls. Click on the scroll while it's still in shopkeepers inventory and your cursor gets a ? and then click on a weapon in your inventory. You now have two weapons.

Sounds good. And doesn't feel like cheating, either.

I take that back. Using SKIDROW's version and that mod the game won't even start due to a C++ runtime error. Mad

Add another bit of unluckiness to my gaming day; I accidentally clicked the icon for sending pet to sell inventory ...... and he was carrying a couple of weapons I was saving until I was high enough level *and* six Lost Dungeon maps.

FML.

I did that shit three times last night. One time he was carrying several weapons and a bunch of gems to transmute.

Me and a friend is using the skidrow version and that mod and it works for us. :/

I haven't updated the game at all. Didn't touch JBeckman's files. Dunno if that's related.

I'm completely hooked on this! ^_^ Hell, I'm spending more time buying treasure maps and looting the places, than actually advancing in the mine... hehe.

Definitely worth the measly €18 it cost me.

Ell oh Ell for beneficial bugs Laughing I found a Spider Fish in one of the ponds, which supposedly turns my pet into a Spider for 120 seconds, so I fed it to him and then sent him off to town to sell some loot - when he came back, we resumed our dungeon crawling.

That was two hours ago.

He's still a spider Laughing Laughing Laughing

Ya this game is a blast. Especially for the price. I can see hours worth of playing. I am having a hard time trying to play this or Borderlands.

It's the same for me. Apart from maybe trying out the games when I first got them, I never played Diablo or Diablo 2 in single player. For me it's just so much more fun to kill stuff with friends.
I gave Torchlight a try but for some reason I was just pretty bored, eventhough I know that if I had a few friends with me I'd have fun.

I'm usually more of a strategy and rpg gamer, so for hack&slash stuff to be fun for me I need coop. too bad Sad

just like in the diablo 3 video where the guy says "there's nothing better than bashing monsters with your friends".

the game is abit bugged with those fishes...

i had a fish that perm change it to another monster, but since i was trying them i changed for a 120s one and then after using the perm then the 120s one he turned into a normal again..

i was disapointed cuz the perm i had was the poison elemental.. wich totaly blasts every mob Very Happy

now i have the a perma eletric gel.. but would gladly change to the poison elemental again Sad

edit: besides what i wrote above the game is so awesome.. i am having great fun with those random dungeons, in particular i had a situation that in a random dungeon i used the same stairs to go up and down sometimes and one of the times i came back and i had to fight a kazilion of mobs to get back to the fishing local.. that was such fun Very Happy

Are the buyable maps all unique? Does transmutation only require gems to have the same color, or must the naming be exactly the same too?

If I remembering correctly, that's how it worked in Fate as well.
I liked it because it allowed me to turn my pet back to normal if I ever wanted to.
You'll find plenty of those perm fish. it won't be a big deal. . . if it is like Fate in that way also.

Each map opens a portal to a randomly generated dungeon, so yes, they're unique. As for gems, you need two of the exact same one. What'd the result be, otherwise? Each gem has a different effect, after all. Razz

I liked diablo 1 and 2, never played fate.

Will this run on my Laptop? (spec in the sig)

And what benefits are there if I buy the game via steam? As the price is really very very nice I might consider buying this game if it will run good and has some useful online play Smile

Torchlight has pretty low system requirements, but the RAM looks like a problem. Especially considering you're using Win7 as well.

Oh, and the game has no multiplayer.

Windows 7 requires a minimum of 1 GB of RAM, so who knows how much of the 256 MB will be left for the game? Razz

Loving this game! I played for 3hours last night and had a blast. I love that I can load up my dog and have him go to town and sell my useless items!!! The fighting is very good along with the special effects from your powers!! I like that I can change between powers on the fly! They really did a good job with everything. I am really liking the graphic style now. It has grown on me big time.

This game actually runs pretty smooth on a C2D desktop with Intel G41 graphics (GMA 4500), 1280x1024 all details max. Talking about great optimization.

Wooohooo! Glitch Fish to the rescue, again! Remember I said last night that the Spider Fish glitched my pet? Instead of 120s form change, it ended up being around 5-6hrs! I lost the glitch when I quit and reloaded the game, sadly. However! I just used a "Deep Pockets" fish, which turns my pet into a Mimic for 120s - and it's been going now for almost an hour... hehe.
