I got my first purple by killing a skulled enemy lol. The game kept telling me that I should go away from skulled enemies because they are very hard for my level. LOL! Sniper rifle + "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHH" (however his rage attack is called) + ???? = PROFIT!!! Laughing
No yellow/orange yet... Crying or Very sad

anyone playing this game on a 8800GT?
ive tried running the game on a c2d6400 with a 8800GT(512mb) 4gig ram but it runs like shit. Measured with fraps. around 20 fps on headland mine. switching off dynamic shadows solves the problem, but the game looks like shit then.
Is the above mentoined rig too old to run the game with dynamic shadows on or someting is wrong?
maybe my cpu is a bottleneck?

So everytime I die now my fee is over 2 million. Good thing I have infinite money.

I am incredibly disappointed by the lack of end-game gear. There's no level 50 weapon, shield or upgrade.

E8200 @ 2.6 Ghz, 4Gigs and 9600GSO (384mb)

Everything on high. Most of the time over 40 fps (at 1440x900).

most of the time i get 40 and more fps but on the headland mine (and some other too) i get around 20 turning down to 640 and switching: texture low, game detail low, ambient oclusion off, bloom off etc EXCEPT dynamic shadows...makes +5 fps boost. going 1920 with every option on EXCEPT dynamic shadows makes 40-50 fps on the same level where i had 20 fps.

I love it to but, broke as fuck multiplayer, the fact they implimented gamespy into it? really? who the fuck uses that pile of shit.

Enemy respawning is fucking ridiculous, the first little corridor outside town to kill skullhead or whatever his name is, is where the bandits spawn, you can run through the little cavern when it's clear then all a sudden you hear screaming and they spawn right in your face.

your cpu ain't the bottleneck. i'm playing it maxed (except for AF, which is set to 2) and i got no probs on a 8800 gt + an e2160 overclocked at 2.3ghz, with 1.5gb ram.

try turning off the stuff that's eating away at your resources (task kill everything, heh), or reinstall windows, if that doesn't help.


killed every running prcess but no go.
btw...there is a setting in one of the game inis to change the shadow res...its 1024 by default. Changed it to an extremly low 32 and the difference can be seen on the shadows but not on the performance. I mean lowering that should increase my fps....

when i try to "join game"online, the game freeze. i think it`s due the amount of servers open. anyone experienced this problem?

Sorry to hear that mate, I've been playing coop for more than 5 hours yesterday through the internet, no problems...

Tried today, no problems either. Some battles are fucking epic in coop. Very Happy

Yep, that shit is ridiculous. When I was fighting Skullhead I was pretty low level, so I hid behind a rock, threw my turret and started sniping him. Now all of a sudden I am shot in the back, I was like WTF because I killed every guy when I entered the "corridor"... They just fuckin respawn.

I fixed MP by opening the ports mentioned on the forums...

Initially I thought it didn't work but I forgot to forward 28910 and that fixed my timeouts.

Use PFPortChecker, great tool to check for open ports for gaming.

I do. I can wait about 5 minutes and it will unfreeze, but 90% of the servers are unjoinable since most people do not open the ports needed to host. I won't bother with coop until they fix this freeze and hosting problem.

In comparison, it's tremendously stronger, a bit more accurate, a bit faster, got a kick-ass zoom, and best of all, it's only a lv15 gun. It's so awesome, even though I'm 25, I still use it.

The only drawback is the 2 bullet loader, but who cares when even the strongest enemies go down in a few shots?



Although I have to admit, that +11 ammo regen seems pretty awesome, but I got that covered with a class-mod. Smile

runs smooth all maxed out at 1920x1080

If you've forwarded ports and people still can't join your game or you join theirs, try playing single player, and then inviting them through it. Works for me and my brother.

Thats what he mean. His lvl 15 purple is BETTER than a lvl 22 orange. It should be the other way around, right? It even worth much more to sell.

Borderlands Catches Nasty Multiplayer Bug - briefly

Newly released role-playing shooter Borderlands suffers from a bug that can reset players' skill points and weapon proficiencies on all three platforms during multiplayer sessions. Particularly annoying for people who have leveled their character up pretty high... There's no fix yet but Gearbox is working on it.

I was hosting a 4 player game, and 2 players got disconnected. Both rejoined but they had missed a quest completion, so we restarted with one of them hosting. Upon joining the game, the disconnected player who was not hosting and I both had our skill points and proficiencies set to 0, and the option to respec was not available (greyed out). Both characters are level 19, and they are basically hosed now -- missing that many skill points and proficiencies is pretty crippling. Anyone have any advice on how to fix this, or if there's somewhere/one else I should contact about this issue? Thanks.

SteveJ (GBX): Your report has been heard and we're working on it. Unfortunately there isn't a fix just yet, but when one is available we hope to be able to repair as much of your character data as possible

LMFAO!! This weapon really *is* mad! When you shoot, the projectiles fly off in random directions like they're drunk Very Happy Of course, when/if they hit something - they explode.. hehehe.
