|
 |
Hello.
I have old 1.4 firmware in my 360 and with this new wave 4 patching thing, I too am having problems using the update from Fairytale Fighters, it gives me a dirty disc error. Like others have said on here, I need to update my dashboard with and the update should work (least it did with Wave3 when it first came out) I have seen on here that people are downloading this somewhere, I searched google and have not had any luck finding a link to the new Fall 09 dashboard. The link for updates on this site only gives you the Fall 08 $SystemUpdate_Fall08_7363.zip file which is what I am already currently using.
Where are people getting the *NEW* dashboard updates? or is there any other way around getting the Fairytale Fighters update to work without giving dirty disc?
Thanks.

dont know where you can get the update, but you can a) wait for the firmware with wave4 support or b) update to 1.6 and use the one shot boot activation disc and a clean copy of a wave4 game which can install the update then
personaly i would wait for the new firmware

ixtreme team has stated that 1.6 with one shot boot is safe as long as you are sure of the source of the game. So either use your own backups or check with abgx360 and you'll be ok.

every wave contains an update! thats the only reason why there is a wave 3 (fall08 update) and now wave4 (summer09?!?) on the disc. but he could not update with a wave4 game cause he is not able to boot a wave4 game because of his old firmware. so either use a original game which is wave4, wait for the new firmware or update to 1.6 and use the one shot boot disc

Oh I see. You meant for people who didn't/couldn't get the latest dash update on live.

You can update even from cd or flash card. Yes, your firmware doesn't know how to boot new games yet, but it doesn't mean you can't run the update.

Correct. I already had the new dash upgrade, so just needed to burn activate.iso disc.

Thank you so much for putting up that link, thats exactly what i'm looking for. The only problem now is, I cant seem to get the console to recognize my usb pen, which i'm 100% certain I used for an update in the past. I tried reformatting is fat32 and putting the system update folder on it, but all I get is 'open tray' from the 360. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Nevermind my bad for having a folder in a folder. This worked flawlessly for me. If you're getting the dirty disc error on your 360 trying to play wave 4, update to the latest patch posted here! worked for me!

cool, probably dont need to patch at all - my fw is so old i doubt it gives a shit.
That said, i'll continue to use PPF patch for wave3 games on the iso's before burning anyway.

With Left 4 Dead 2, it has another update... I read in another thread that we need to get 8599 xbox dashboard update in order for the wave 3 patched game to use the update.... Does anyone have a link to 8599 dashboard update?? Please post..
Thanks.
