Level 21, pretty fun so far and got my first purple 5min ago. Playing an Alchemist and his pets and spells are uber good. Still in the first dungeon and I've played for 3 hours.

So I guess from the reactions of those that played it that it's as good as it looks in the screens ? Very Happy

I'm waiting for a scene release, no hurry.

Finally found it and it works fine, also uses some EXE based setup with 7-zip compression so it's easy to unpack.

Haven't played that much though but it looks promising so far. Smile

EDIT: Tested for a short while, very similar to Fate and Diablo 1, kinda like a mix between both. (Melee, Ranged and Magic based class similar to Diablo 1, bit cartoony and has pets similar to Fate, intro section is similar to Tristram in Diablo 1 as well, looks fun but I've only played for a very short amount of time.)

EDIT: Settings, classes, intro and a small screen of the town of Torchlight.

Google always works. Very Happy

Took a while though with a few different search words as it hasn't really spread that far, had to use a few different torrents and trackers in the end to finally find one that worked at decent speeds. Razz

Won't really matter as the game will be out in about 15 hours on Steam and then we'll see a scene release shortly afterwards.
(There's Steam files in this release so it seems to be from there as well, similar to a Skidrow release I'd guess.)

EDIT: Oh and while it's about 300 MB packed it's close to 1GB when unpacked plus the main archive is further packed as a zip file.

I compared Torchlight's setup files from Skidrow and DeadFr0g against one another, no real differences.
(Skidrow places the manual on their disc image along with a somewhat recent DirectX and OpenAL, called OpenGL for some reason, redist.)

One of the devs (they're very community friendly) on the torchlight forums said the leaked version is a earlier build review copy which still has some bugs in it. He seemed to make sense and not making shit up too. The official digital release is still some hours out. I tried the released one and bought the game, its only 14 bucks.

Will have to compare the files to the Steam version when it's out then, it's also available on Gamersgate and probably some other sites.

Killed the first boss a short while ago and got the first unique item from him, also gambled a bit and got a set item, there's some pretty cool equipment in the game. Very Happy
(Very addictive gameplay as well, gaining new levels and better equipment.)

This game is awesome Smile . It's better then all AAA titles in the genre in last few years. Addictive, complicated and so very diablo-like in some regards (music in town for example is almost like a carbon copy to me Razz ). Playing an alchemist, level 12 or 13 right now and the class is really cool. A bit of summoning, a lot of damage and some buffs and debuffs. All in one. This is what i wanted from Hellgate's Diabolist before they scrapped him into two boring classes.

There's also quite a lot of ways to improve your character. Levels (giving stat and skill points, usual stuff) , fame levels (giving skill points), pet enhancment (your pet can carry and euip items too, and even run to the shop to sell stuff - cool Smile ), and spells, which work a bit like magic did in the original diablo - but it's liimited to 4 spell slots (and works in addition to various class skills).

Graphics are quite cool, spell effects look real nice, though the art style takes a bit getting used to. It runs smooth too.

My only three problems so far:

- i would like to zoom out further and it's not possible, sadly
- it's sad that there are no open environments. It's completely like Diablo 1 - one town and a huge maze of dungeons
- don't exactly know how to fish - yet Razz

Other then that, the game seems like a best H&S in years.

The devs are saying this is a earlier review build, but I think they`re full of it or don`t actually know. They said they worked on it over the weekend and fixed bugs that are still in the review build and sent it out on Sunday, but if you look at the file dates in this pirate release, a lot of them are Sunday morning.

Sounds like it`s either just damage control or he doesn`t actually know.

MSE detected nothing on the file, and scanning after install detected nothing.

Many releases are false positives on crappy AV programs.

Not surprising since the original Diablo composer works for Runic, and Runic itself was founded by 2 of the 3 Blizzard North founders (who created the previous two Diablos + LoD) Wink

The game will keep me entertained for while I think, it's a pity they didn't include a simple P2P functionality to run through the game in co-op. Would've been good to do with my friends, seeing as how we went through all the difficulties in LoD a few months ago Razz

Don't know if the MMO bit will be worth it when it comes out, as D3 will probably be out around that time as well Sad

Meh, level 30 right now and I'm officially bored. Never changing dungeons and anti-climactic boss fights ruins this for me.

Might mess around with the map editor once its released.
