I am on firmware 1.51..do you mean that once the new firmware comes out, the game that I have burned til now will no longer work? I was told yesterday that as long as the games are stealth patched and verified that the games will work, and now I am hearing this. I am confused..Just want to be sure when the new firmware does come out, my games will work, whats the point of upgrading if all my burned games will no longer work

there is aptacher to downgrade wave 4 to wave 3 with a very simple guide and abg...
its out on newsgroups.
(for those of you that dont like thw activation cd)

yeah, but even if I patch the game, and its verified(I only play game when they are officially released) I can still get banned from xbox live right?

yes - if you're patching and then you go online while playing the game you can most definitely expect a ban.

If you patch wave 4 to wave 3 and then patch this game with the wave 3 to wave 2. Is this possible? I have firmware 1.4 and I need first patch wave 4 to wave 3 and after that I need to patch wave 3 to wave 2. I hope someone can confirm this.

No firmware old or new is guaranteed to protect you from a ban. So your point is kinda moot.

If you don't patch the game and use the activation disc you are as safe from ban as possible.

of course it is, but just use wave 3 to 2 patch ( the old one ) if you've fw 1.4 like i have and you can run all the wave 4 games.

wave 4 games have avatar prizes so if you fuck up the wave you FUCK UP the game
works fin with the disk , is like kick start on amiga so its not a biggy for me

Strict Wave 3 compliance means wave 3 games will only boot if they have correct PFI/DMI/SS and timestamp for wave 3
Strict drive speed compliance means games will only boot if drive is set for the initial speed of 12x, any modification of this make games fail to boot
SS v2 suports multiple timing samples for challenges type 5 and 7 , stroing them in the SS. This is a pre-requiste for SS v3 which has support for the so called AP2.5 check. Since
this has never been used or may never be used by MS we will adopt a wait and see approach and continue to monitor for its usage.
With drive in Windows mode (Tray half open on powerup) 0800 mode is activated allowing easy dumping of game disc including SS v2. In this mode the drive is also able to output drive key, fw version and drive type by using a simple custom inquiry command.
Game exceptions are integrated in the fw for games that do not comply with the strict wave checks but are legitimate. These are Dance Dance Revolution Universe, Stoked, Ping 17 disk, afro samurai
One shot boot mode allows you to boot a Wave X or non stealth game by using the activate.iso disk as a flag. Just insert the activate disc and the next disc inserted will boot without any strict checks. This will still utilise full stealth if available. As soon as that disc is booted the flag is cleared, and you will have to re-insert the activate disk again to enable one shot boot. As always use with caution.

Just to be straight, I got Wave.4.Loader.for.iXtreme.1.6 and there is an activate.iso in there, do I just burn that and run that on my 360 then play a game?
What about patching the game iso? Do I use the Wave3 tool and patch the Wave4 iso?
My firmware is 1.6 and it's a BenQ drive.
I like bum.

If i have a benq 1.51 is there anything i can do to play new GTA. when i load up the game it just says Play DVD and when i play it the tv goes black. anyone tried patching from wave 4 to wave 3 on gta? I guess the activator only works if you have 1.6 so that's not an option.
Where can i get the wave 4 > 3 patch if it works?
