Im planning to purchase a new HDD this week. In order to transfer my saved games Im assuming I'll have to also purchase a transfer kit. My question is; Has anybody actually used one of these transfer kits and are they reliable for transferring large files like game addons?

Ah okay so I guess Il just redownload anything that I downloaded. What about transferring of saved games? Last year I somehow had corrupt save files on my (current) HDD and then I had to reformat everything because it was literally giving me RROD due to HDD problems.

I bought a new 60gig360 system last year and had Microsoft send me a transfer kit and use xport360 due to having a 60gig hd and i think it's better than explorer360 and as far as game saves, i backed up all my game-saves to PC and disc and just re-downloaded all the content as long as it's still on the marketplace or download history....

I upgraded my 20gb to a 120gb hdd by hand with hddhackr, had no transfer kit. Still managed to copy everything over by connecting the bare drive via sata to my motherboard, copying all the files over to the pc with xplorer360, and then copying them to the new 120gb hdd.

All saves and DLC still worked great, except for Rock Band Band data... needed to start from the beginning again. People also say this about Forza 2 afaik, maybe those saves are hdd ID bound aswell.
