I don't see any reason why they couldn't, matchmaking and dedicated servers are not mutually exclusive. IW just wants full control so they can charge you for maps and mods and so the community cant make addons for free like we do for everything else.

i have preordered this just like l4d 2. great games to play online. this will support full steam features so i read and no dedicated servers at all

You're perfectly happy with paying 60€, being forced to run it through steam and then get inferior online-gameplay?
Not only that but you'll probably be charged 5-10€ for the upcoming DLC's with like 3 maps and not being able to mod the game at all?
So if you're not bothered by all those things then high five, cause I just think I found waldo! \o/

Because I love the singleplayer
Because I'm a casual multiplayer kind of guy.
From my perspective, nothing has changed. Will I still be able to play multiplayer? Yes. Will I still be able to play singleplayer? Yes. Will both modes be as awesome as COD4 original? Yes.

I agree. i really wanted to play this just for the single player but there is no way in holy hell i'm paying $60 for this. If i have to wait until MW 4 comes out and this hits the bargain bin i will. I bought COD 4 and have never played MP, but i wanted to be legit just in case i did want to play. I would want the best MP experience, not some cracked server where i have to deal with a bunch of cheaters. Now that they cut the hamstrings of a game that was going to run away with all sort of sales records, they can forget it. I won't be buying it until it's dirt cheap, if i buy it at all. I just can't support a company that, as of right now, doesn't seem to care about the wants of their customer base. I know that consoles are big source of income but, how can they not see the almost rabid support of a few who would be willing to pay money for their own servers just to play a a game? That's the type of customer who's loyalty i would want to keep. Of course, i'm talking about legit servers

I pre-orderd, i liked cod4mw multiplayer, even though i played on crked srvers. This should be worth the purchase, all the new weapons and upgrades. I like games with a rank and reward system. I dont like MMO's though, too much time.

You do know that MW2 multi will be nothing like MW multi? It will have ultra laggy servers and shitty matchmaking.

Sure, I can agree. My comparisons were over the top but let's put it this way then; You wouldn't want to try and play and FPS game with a steeringwheel, now would you?
What I'm saying is, just because you can do it and it works (or barely works) does not make it optimal nor something you need to try out to make a guestimate of how it will work. ^_^
