And will this key be used for online or just for activation ? |
Probably both, there was a link about it a few pages back. |
So what about steam versions with no actual CD's ?

Oh, and since you're even asking, that's contributing to the console version as well. |
"If you're planning on picking up Borderlands, and graphical fidelity are an important consideration for you, you might want to give your choice of platforms some careful thought. According to Gearbox president Randy Pitchford, the graphics in the PC version of Borderlands aren't just superior, they "destroy" their console counterparts.
"The PC version destroys all the console versions in terms of the image fidelity - assuming you have the hardware for it," Pitchford told Rock, Paper Shotgun.
Of course, according to Pitchford, there are still benefits to getting the console versions.
"It's tough. It's very tough, I'll tell ya. On one level I do like sitting on my couch with the surround sound and the wireless controller, on the other level I mean you will not get a better-looking image than in the PC version of the game."
He added, "And when you're playing a first-person shooter, the mouse and keyboard interface is still the best way to go. It's a tough thing."

Since people seem to have read it wrong..
It's worth the wait since it's only 2 days.

And still it sounds dumb better graphic, controls, menus and the overall experience isn't worth the wait of one bloody week
Get a life, I waited 6 months for Oblivion because it was crap out of the box and didn't want to play it like that, waited for some juicy mods to come in, why play a crappy version when there is a better one coming around the corner.

Moggy: Ask him who would win in a fight between CliffyB and Gabe Newell?
Wow. Uh. I’m gonna go with Cliffy on that. Cliffy would chainsaw him in half. Gabe’s gibs would be awesome, though.

Some would deem that as trolling, by deliberately posting an inflammatory comment in order to cause outraged reactions.

Sarcasm, common sense... and the fact no one notices "ON PC".
Seven days? Six months? I waited a year to play Clear Sky.

always thought this game was a mmo, so never gave it much attention, but apparently its not... so whats the deal with this... is it basically a single player mmo thats just endless grind for the sake of grind? its not story based or anything, right?

from what I've seen so far there's little story to this game, mostly doing killing, or bringing items quests and grinding stats

Just used a proxy to gift myself US Borderlands. I hope that shit will unlock the 23th and not the 30th. Been playing it quite a bit on Xbox, but i wanna wait for PC release now.

If you buy a product through store.steampowered.com that product will remain on your Steam account no matter your locale. The US version of borderlands for instance has a different product id than the european version and hence if you've been gifted or gifted yourself your version will unlock at the US time.
