Wondered if anyone else on here have the same problem as me. When playing in free mode and only then my Xbox sometimes freezes on the screen where the track starts to load. Career mode is fine and in no other game this happens.
It's the PAL release and I have both discs installed to the hard drive. |
Game is definitely buggy. I didn't have freeze in free mode, but I had plenty of crap in career mode - textures disappearing, sound freezing, gamepad stopping to responding, slow menus and so on. I have PAL installed to HDD too. These bugs rarely happen so it's not too distracting, but still annoying.

Thanks for the reply I'm willing to live with these small annoyances as it really is a great game.
I'm only on level 15 now after 4hours of play and only 4% completed my wife is finding it very hard to get any TV time while I'm playing.
Wonder if indeed this is a problem for other players as well if it could be fixed via an update from Turn10.

One thing really fucking bothers me - the ignorant people over at the official forums. Yes, I know what im about to say is true for for most games and it's fans, but since i almost never hang out at games' official forums, it just gets to me now.
The game has it's flaws, there's no doubt about it. The more i play the game the more i feel like it was rushed somehow. But the thing that's been going on lately on the official forums is that the exhaust upgrades do nothing to alter the sound. Something that has been present on both FM1 and 2. After i checked and confirmed this myself, i was pretty let down. For me, it's nothing less than natural that a game that sells itself as being a simulator (and the best one ever if you listen to that douchebag Greenawalt) has good sound, and definately audible difference when upgrading a car. But FM3 does not.
Now, the blind fanboys and morons over at the forums has most of the time three things to say - it's either faked, or they claim that the supposed "proof videos" actually do prove that there IS change (wich someone with a set of healthy ears will understand directly, that its bullshit), or that it doesn't matter at all, and we who point this out are just whining and complaining.
It's like they're living in this world that T10 is GIVING them this game, and works for free, or someting like that? That no-one has the right to critize the game? For fucks sake, the fans are what made the game so popular, without them and their money and support, T10 would be going nowhere. So I say that theres GOOD reason to critize and point out flaws, especially something like this. There's alot of other things aswel that could've been fixed if they just spent a few more months on it, im sure of it. The drag strip/mode (why even have a launch tree if it's 3-2-1-GO anyway? And the car that does a wheelie in the intro sequence is obviously CGI, since the dragstrip is just as slippery as all the other tracks), the interiors, the gear change animations, the paint options (still exactly the same as FM2) - and more - could've been fixed.
All this also looks even worse after all the smack-talk from Greenawalt, how FM3 is some god-given gift to the people or something.
And no, i don't think the game is bad, and yes, i will be spending many many hours with this (FM2 is the game ive played the most in recent years, loved it more than any other racing game i've ever played. And that includes about all of them) and i have the LCE version preordered.
Now i find myself looking forward even more to GT5.

Heh, I hope you realize sooner or later that grass if always greener on the other side. If you think GT5 will be a perfect game without any issues you are mistaken.
GT4 had issues, FM2 had issues, FM3 has issues and GT5 also will have issues.

But what are you basing that on? Surely not a 2 year old demo. The fact is that if it plays like the prologue then it won't live up to Forza because the gameplay in GT5P is rubbish.
However, I definetely think that they will have improved it a lot between the prologue and release so I wouldn't be so sure. I wouldn't be surprised if GT5 stomps all over Forza 3. But then again, I won't be surprised if it stinks either.
We'll just have to wait and see.

Yep. Disc 2 needed fixed for me. DMI failed verification on the allstars release. Disc 1 went through fine.

I wish it would be limited or disabled on the harder custom difficulties , too easy to reach for the rewind if you take a vital turn too wide

simple solution, do not use it 
i rarely use it myself, only when i did 9 laps and one more lap to go and i made one or two mistakes
and i don't have any issues u mentioned above, this game is far from perfect but it delivers, some things really bugging me is that there is a lot of cars, alot of useless that is, like 5 same friggin holden, vipers etc? wtf? plus i wish u could change your position sit, it's kinda too close and why the hell driver doesn't change gears in a cockpit view, overpriced rims, i mean i can buy 3 set of good wheels for 3 grand
sound is not awesome either, ok more or less, some issues i wish this game didn't had, then again i didn't bought it so who am i to ask 
best engine sound still stays in NFSU2, not a single racing game delivered that at the same lvl, which is a shame
p.s. if gt5 was as good as fm3 or even better, $ony would be screaming with their not pre-rendered videos already, otherwise i'm absolutely not impressed with the loox of gt5 nor the way cars handle in fresh gameplay videos

the unlimited rewind is a shame - yea, i know - dont use them...but who the fuck isnt going to when they make an error in a long race?? should have been limited or not there at all.

ehmm it's not enforced or anything, don't really get what your problem is
i like it, u can try different approaches on a track until u get it perfect without bricking your car, then u can get it clean next lap and learn, instead of restarting game constantly, in grid it was kinda broken and very limited, here u can change cameras and all
it is a game after all, not full life sim

The driving model is great in this game, I like graphics too and all. It just seems there's no real goal as all cars are already unlocked in free driving mode. I can see this will get boring after some time, and what's with the endless rewinds.. Why do they have to ditch unlockables and include cheats in every game nowadays
This game should be played with triple tv's and fanatec wheel to keep it interesting, with gamepad I just don't think I feel like playing this game very long.

well after lvl 25 u still have no more than 1mln+ credits, so i doubt u would be able to afford much, consider cars giveaway like a compensation for low income
i miss arcade mode from f2
