Forums are made for bitching. Hasn't that always been the case?

This is what's bothering me the most. In my oponion it's trolling, hidden in the shadows. |
I don't agree. Sometimes you have to challenge your own principles for the sake of good. What you are describing is a paradox. Because someone think there's whining they shouldn't be able to voice their concern because it could be conceived as whining. That would effectively lead to people with lhzr's opinions would never be heard. It's like saying UK/US should never have waged war on Nazi-Germany because ultimately they prefer peace.
I wholeheartedly agree with lhzr. Most of the "whining" on nforce is on autopilot, it's predictable and it's not even remotely intelligent. I said most of it. | Whining about other people whining is definitely on autopilot here.

Is this really what this thread has turned into?
Jesus christ get back on topic already. If you guys don't like how their doing something, if you don't like what the game is about or the "features" it has or hasn't, THEN DONT BUY IT! Even better, just forget about it's existance!
BACK on topic.
I was thinking abou this character storage and am curious how the progression and character storage is. I mean is it like Diablo where you play and just leave off then continue where you left off? Beat it, you get a higher difficulty harder play through again?

You get "New Game Plus" when you beat it, mate. Get to keep your character, all items, all stats, and can progress to the next difficulty level.

Yup. For laughs, I think I might draw up a go-to list of copypasta for use on this subforum, of the most overused "autopilot" bitching, just to save people the trouble of ever having to type out the same "I'm going to stick it to the devs by pirating this because of whatever reason" drivel.

@m3th0d2008: i'd like this forum to be enjoyable rather than idiotic. if you consider that as a girly trait, then you're racist against men (in before people telling me that men are not a race).
@cedge: well, i usually like it here, but the games arena is just awful and i dunno about other places.. are there even forums without crap outthere? i don't trust the internet anymore
@mister_s: bitching gets unfunny after a while
@ixigia: oh, you.. .. (no homo) |
I used to write good posts, I used to take my time to make a proper argument and have a well founded opinion, I used to enjoy having discussions about the interesting going on's in the games industry, all on nforce.
But something changed, suddenly peoples attention span got shorter and shorter.
And it wasn't long before you found yourself discussing something or explaining something in great detail, when someone would come along in a few posts after "How I do xx" clearly showing that all that time and effort you spent with your posts, taking care to go in depth with the subject was all for nothing.
When the page changed it was all entirely forgotten.
Soon 90% of the users acted this way and there was no more inclination to spend as much time trying to improve the way people act, as whats the point?
So now more harsh and argueably a lot less refined methods are put in use; banhammer - apropos please get back on topic.

i agree, seeing how threads end up buried in clone posts is discouraging. there are still ok game related threads, but the most popular ones always are generally uncool. skimming over these works well, though, since it's usually easy to tell at a glance whether you're looking at 'one of those' posts or not

not sure whether this means that playing through the story in coop will force the same player to always have to host, in order to not replay already done quests.. and not getting any loot after taking part in a quest is stupid.
the game sounds mostly good, except for the above

Give the small number of bugs and gameplay elements that seem a little... how shall we say? "off"? I predict an upcoming patch. If Gearbox are marketing this as "Diablo, FPS style!" then it stands to reason a lot of people are going to be less than thrilled at not getting the share of loot from quests - and that should, hopefully, give Gearbox some incentive to fix that.
Still, even given the bug and glitch reports so far - the overwhelming reaction to the game is positive, pretty much scoring solid 8 and 9s all across the board.
That's impressive! Can't wait to play it! ^_^

does sound rather....redundant (right word) or at least not well thought out. Who knows, a game comes out, we play it, we don't like things, we post about it in their forums, they have the chance to change things around, that's what I love about PC gaming, the mere amount of patching that can be done to alter gameplay/how things are done.

But F3 is a horrible FPS and it's not the only game set in a royally fucked setting. I'm not sure what the comparison should be but F3 isn't it.
