The first nuke was just about wrongly sized rars (and who cares about that anyway) and now the new nuke says p2p repack.. Meh, i'll play the Bonkers one anyway.

This game is pretty great. My only problem is the damn bullet lag when playing online.

while i agree with most of your glee wgem, but 10/10? Really?
May i ask what character you used, and what you main focus was (Ie. soldier, with shotguns and using the turret)
Because with my playtrough with the hunter, i quickly became a one shot wonder with my revolver, just get in close and try and get head shots - which is easy because the AI is pretty simple. Didn't use his bird more than a few times, since it did crap damage, and had the worst pathing ever.
And a tacked on vehicle section, and many mmo style quests (go kill 3 of those, finde thse 5 things, pick 8 plants, 10cans of food etc) were less than stellar in my book..
Spoiler: | And the ending - last boss dead in under 15secs, wee! What a letdown, even tho doing 6000 crits with my revolver 2 times a second seemed pretty overpowered. Good thing we were playnig in coop, else it would have been even faster :/ |

The gun mechanics on this game are simply amazing, its the first shooter ive played in SO LONG that actually felt like I was doing exactly that, SHOOTING. The weapons actually feel powerful, you can almost feel the thud of the hammer bashing the cylinder or the rush of air from the explosions. Seriously awesome
It's games like this that remind me why despite all the utter shite-on-crusty-roll games, gaming is STILL worth defending for the complete gem's that do come out every now and then.
10/10 from me and one that I will definitely be buying the collectors edition of for all that sweet artwork I can't help but feel that this is how I wanted fallout 3 to be.. I love this kind of game so much, but I enjoyed it more than FO3 and it surprises me because this game is so simple, has soooo much less depth than FO3.
Must play!! |
Whole heartily agree with your remarks. I have been looking froward to this game since 2007. I am glad, for once, my hype for a game wasn't a total let down.
As far as I know though, there are no plans for a collectors edition at the moment unless something new has popped up.

BANDITS AND SKAGS! BANDITS AND SKAAAAAAAAAGGGSSSSS!
No seriously...10/10 for a game that has 2 enemy types? Fuck off. (Oh and some areas have crab thingies, and from what I read spidery type things...) But fuck no all you get to kill are bandits and skags!
I'm level 17 on my Siren and I just don't know what to say. Sure, I'm having alot of fun but holy crap could we get A LITTLE more variety please? And I want to get a decent SMG god damn I've been using one since level 6. I'm pretty much forced into using a revolver or a combat rifle just to put out enough damage on those ULTRA MEGA ALPHA BADASS HOLY SHIT A CORROSIVE SKAG.
How much like diablo is this going to be? Skag runs to replace Baal runs? Or is it once you beat the end boss the game is over no open world kinda thing?
i can has computar?!

I have quit playing at level 9 because I would rather play it on the PC when it comes out.

So off the top of my head I can think of 6 different kinds of enemies, each with their own variations. How many do people want?

It can have a 7.5/10 from me.
I can't see what all the fuss is about. Its a alright game, don't get me wrong, but have I missed something?

It's hardly you, here is one short 'review' (from a forum):
There's a serious lack of life
8 hours in, and I have to call it quits.
Being a fan of Fallout, as well as most FPS' out there (and a fervent Final Fantasy Fanboy), Borderlands seemed like the end all game, at least until MW2. The box cover looks fantastic, the graphics were different (in a good way)... And it seemed from the making of vids that it had a good sense of humor.
And honestly, after the intro I was ready to text all my gamer friends with "OMG THIS GAME IS TEH STYLISH!"
Unfortunately, after now 8+ hours, I have to take the disc out of my 360 and sell it back for the onslaught of must haves in the coming weeks.
I don't even so much care that the shooting isn't CoD tight but more Fallout 3. Or that the class system seriously pisses me off when it comes to single player. The enemies respawning too damn fast wasn't even enough to make me quit. But what did was the complete and utter lack of PURPOSE.
I'm just not feeling part of anything. The story is less than barebones, and really it's just "here's you, here's a desert, shoot things." While some may say Fallout 3 is similar, I beg to differ. To contrast the desolation in F3, you were given multiple hubs with people walking around. And while on paper it sounds like nothing much, it really helped to build a believable world.
Here, I just don't believe the Borderland universe. It's a desert. Packed with nutcases and midget nutcases. But no civilians, no actual sign of civilization, nothing. Not even any treasure per se. I'm just a guy shooting other guys nowhere for no reason. It gets old incredibly fast.
I wanted to like this game, but in the end, it's just too damn boring.

Meh seems it's exactly what I expected, a multiplayer game with uninteresting and flimsy SP. Too bad.

Sounds about right, what disappoints is the RPG part, this game shouldn't be called an rpg imo, it has no story or interesting characters to meet, it's a co-op fps period more like Serius Sam, so if SS had a skill tree it would be called an rpg as well or something, ridiculous, and the game was hyped as being rpg/fps.

Anything with three different stats and XP is called an RPG these days, so that's nothing new.

has about the same depth as Sacred story wise. . . and as far as I know, that's still considered an action RPG.
I'm not going to argue over the tired and fucking STUPID argument about what makes an RPG an RPG. Because, for the most part, if it has character classes (check), upgradeable stats (check), then it is considered an RPG by most people no matter what you think about that.
If you don't like the game that's fine. But i doubt anyone's mind will be changed that really likes it. Hell, people argued about Diablo being an RPG when it came out as well. As far as I know . . . it's still considered an action RPG and it didn't have much storyline going for it.
Not to mention Nethack.
Who the fuck cares if not everyone likes it? People don't like the same things (yay!).

I was skeptical about random 'gazillion' weapons in this game as well, now I read one guy got a sniper scoped shotgun exactly what I was afraid of, I'll take 15 fully animated and different looking real weapons any day, I also heard many weapons look the same which is disappointing buy I expected as much.
