Correct, unless you sync music or anything.

Ah, you're probably right, I just never investigated which folder you'd drop your songs in. ;p But yes, I'm sure it's possible!

iPhone can play divx, xvid too. Just download mplayer on cydia and you can put the movie anywhere on the iphone to play it.

Yes Apple is beginning to block the JB exploit in the newer models of the 3GS but it hasn't been hacked yet bro

That worls great! Thanks for the suggestion! The only thing that bugs me is how slow it is ftping files to the iphone. It must been more than half an hour to transfer a 350mb video file. Does that sound right? The same file takes about 3 minutes to copy to my PSP.
The other major annoyance is Ive installed a different keyboard called itypefastr and I cannot for the life of me get rid of it and get my old keyboard back. Apparently Ive uninstalled it but its still there! Anyone got any ideas?

from Iphone Hacks:
Spoiler: | Earlier this month, we had written about the new iPhone 3GS units shipped by Apple which came with an updated bootrom that made these new iPhone units jailbreak-proof.
If that news made you lose sleep, here is something to cheer about. Now we hear from the iPhone Dev Team that while the new bootrom indeed interferes with the current hacking tools, it is not after all jailbreak-proof.
Bootrom is a small piece of code that runs during the boot up and its primary task is to verify that the boot image is not corrupted. Apple has updated this code to also check for unauthorized firmware like the 24kpwn exploit that has been used to jailbreak iPhone 3GS.
In an interview to Wired.com, Eric McDonald, a member of the iPhone Dev Team has said that while the updated bootrom does indeed interferes with the 24kpwn exploit, which makes it difficult to start the jailbroken iPhone 3GS if it is shutdown. As a workaround to the problem, one needs to tether (connect) the iPhone to a computer to restart it. While this sounds like needless trouble for jailbroken iPhone users, McDonald has said that it is only a matter of time before the jailbreak team release another exploit to counter the new bootrom.
The cat and mouse game between Apple and the iPhone hacking community has been on for over two years now and Apple only knows too well that an updated exploit should be on its way soon. Nevertheless, contractual obligations mandate that Apple provide all technological infrastructure to help its carrier partners like AT&T from losing customers.
Do you think it is better for Apple and their customers if the company decides to end this race by opening up to all carriers and also opening up the iPhone SDK so that jailbreak apps like Winterboard, SBSettings etc, which are currently available on Cydia are available on the iPhone App Store?
Why do you jailbreak your iPhone? Please do let us know your thoughts in the comments. |

Anyone used i-FunBox? I have to say its a pretty impressive piece of software and has a nice friendly UI. It also copied video in like 2 minutes as opposed to over 30 minutes that ftping via Filezilla took. No idea why that was so slow. I transferred an mp4 video file to the ipod music and video section but after transferring it doesnt show and I cant access it from the iphone either. Anyone got any ideas?

I managed to finally get rid of that damn itypefastr keyboard.
Found a pretty good site too I thought Id share.
http://iphone-heaven.net/
It even has IPA links for when Installous is being sucky! I tried for hours to download Payback via Installous and its quite a large file (200mb+) and Installous kept failing halfway through each time. Theres so many improvements it could do with. I like Rock's download manager and how you can still browse whilst downloading. A resume download feature would be totally awesome. With Installous, you're stuck on the same downloading screen and if you move away from it, you get an incomplete download! So annoying!

yes the new blackra1n revision actually goes around the blockage but this was yesterday and by the time of my post no tools were available to counter the new bootrom.

Same thing happened to me, it's just a bogus .ipa file, mislabeled on the site.
I had to grab 1.0 instead, which the game ran like shit but I finished it anyways (wasn't too long).

Controls in COD: Zombies are fucked up. It's either too sensitive or too slow, fiddled a lot with the sensitivity sliders and still can't find a comfortable setting. Also online coop doesn't work. Regged an account and everything but it still says your connection doesn't allow online MP. wtf? (i have a fast wifi connection, not some edge or 3g)
Today I didn't even need to use my AK. I gotta say it was a good day. (c) - Ice Cube

Yah, the controls are hit or miss. When I'm walking around I feel ok, but when I need to do something quick, the controls always let me down for some reason.
Strange about the MP. It has worked pretty quickly for me everytime I've tried on my home network via wifi.
