Adding the difficulty as a negative doesn't always mean teh reviewer is a retard. It could simply mean there are some extremely hard points, some RPG's do have that. Imagine playing a game and suddenly getting stuck in battle with a group who owns you with ease. That's frustrating and can be seen as a negative point due to balancing issues.

Game reviewers have to be a jack of all trades and master of none. They can't be expected to put the time into any one game or genre to get good at it. That said any time I've watched a video review it's always some tard who can't aim or just seems to be doing stupid things. Anyway really they are trying to be journalists more than pro gamers.

You're reading the wrong mags then. I can't comment on sites, but there are two great PC mags available here. In both the reviewers are 'specialized', they won't review games outside their category because they don't know much about it. I just wanted to point out the reviewer could mean there are balancing issues. Sure you could say "grow some balls retard", but from out of nowhere getting dropped in a middle of a big fight is simply bad design. Since I didn't read the review myself, it's all speculation of course.
Funny how we always see the standard "it doesn't have 3000+ skillz. Haha, there you go console/mass effect/kotor/blabla retards". I'd rather have a game with a limited number of usefull skills than a game with gazilion useless skills. You don't need a hundred skills, three dozen inputs and five billion items to make a complex game.

True enough. I've no complaints with the amount of skills.

Uhh ok. The guy basically explained it's an RPG with a party system, like most RPG's, since decennia, done again and again. I would facepalm myself if I was there when the guy was explaining this.
Still hyped about the game though.

I think he was just explaining how deep the control system goes and how much you can automate it if you want. You can play it as one character and just let your party do whatever, you can control them all every step of the way or you can set up a detailed customized AI system that does whatever you want when a condition is met. You can even adjust it to do different things against different enemies.

Anyone reckon there's a chance of a early release of this puppy?
Mass Effect did by about a week. (12th Nov 2008)
So if it follows form perhaps we'll see the game on.........: 27th october 2009

The retail edition of the game has only a basic disc check :
| Quote: | | We’re happy to announce that the boxed/retail PC version of Dragon Age: Origins will use only a basic disk check and it will not require online authentication. In other words, the retail PC version of the game won’t require you to go online to authenticate the game for offline play. We have chosen not to use SecuROM in any version of Dragon Age that is distributed by EA or BioWare. |
So, I count on the group with the best supplier to win, maybe Skidrow or RLD ?

Nah, I don't think so. That one took months, if my memory isn't incorrect (hence the whole Boundle scenario began) - but a fully working Mass Effect, galaxy map and saving and all, took an extremely long time. There were tons of "fixes!!11" but the first batches were shite and were barely functional.
