Hey guys, got the possibility to get a PSP for 45€ (incl. shipping) with 3600 ma battery, CFW (what ever that is), and a hardcover from maximo with charging station.

Just has some smaller scratches.. what do you think?

I think that it is the PSP-1000...

Snap it up, mate. The PSP is a fantastic machine with some kick-ass games. The 3600 mAh battery is what's known as a "stamina" battery, lasts almost twice as long as the original one. CFW is Custom FirmWare - basically allowing you to put ISOs and other homebrew goodies on the PSP Wink

That sounds pretty good Smile I just read that the PSP 1000 has just 32MB of RAM, whereas the PSP 2000 + has 64MB RAM. Are there any games or software (besides skype) which don't work with the psp 1000?

And can I play any backup from the memory stick duo or isn't this possible?

Nah, the extra RAM is only useful for intense emulators (don't even think of playing N64 games on the PSP1000, lol) and the Web Browser. No "official" games use/need the extra RAM.

Oh and I didn't see your other question, sorry; Yes, with CFW you can play your backups (they'll be either PS1; eboot, PSP; ISO/CSO or homebrew; eboot) from your memory stick Smile

Storage is dirt cheap too, I recently bought a Photofast CR5400 dual-slot MicroSD adaptor for my PSP. 2x16GB MicroSDs running together for almost 32GB of storage ^_^

This one has 2x8GB sticks.

Awesome isn't it? I *love* my CR5400, it's pure fucking win! Better yet? These are Class 6 devices, which means I get an absolute bare minimum of 6MB/s write - usually around 7.2MB/s write and almost 12MB/s read speeds

Try getting that on Memory Stick Duo Laughing

So I won't have the stupid scratching sounds of the umds and the games load faster? How is it with the copy protections? I think that the fastloader 0.7 is installed. Will I be able to play anything with it? (for example gran turismo)

Ditch FastLoader, you won't need it - it's ancient and crappy. CFW does everything for you these days. Once you get it, head over to the handheld section and post a thread; you'll get all the help you need for installing CFW.

Personally? Stick with 5.00 M33-6, GEN-B doesn't support 1.50 homebrew (effectively every emulator out there, bar a few exceptions) and yes, all new games - including GT - have been decrypted and hacked for 5.00 M33. There are plenty of guides for doing it yourself, or downloads of the full ISO that people have already fixed.

Just drag'n'drop the ISO/CSO to the memory stick ISO folder, and play!

I don't even know what fastloader is, I just saw it on the posted screenshots from him Laughing
Thanks for the help. I'm really looking forward to get this one... Might even give it to my brother-in-law as he wanted a psp for so long now... The perfect gift for a 10 year old Smile

either update to 5.00m33 if you want to keep the 1.50 kernel (for homebrew) and decrypt the newer games or simply update to the latest custom firmware (5.50 gen-d2)
