Well maybe they made it really difficult to lure guards away from their posts this time. It was way too easy in CT. I remember a room in the ship mission where there were three people sitting around the table. You could lure them away one by one by turning off the light in the room, strangle and pile them up in the corridor. And the remaining guards wouldn't even notice their absence.

I agree with above. Sure the sneaking in the previous games was prominent, but the AI was never that good. So I never experienced SC as a tense and/or difficult game.

The series pretty much died with Double Agent for me. Nowhere near as good as the previous games were.
I'm not even suprised they took this route. At least the first three games remain amazing.
