This is multiplattform? Oh, now i know why I'm thinking it's going to suck.

Cool. it's nice to be pleasantly surprised i guess.

We'll see. I didn't say it's going to suck, I said I'm thinking/guessing it will suck (for me).

Well, i have learned it is much better to think a game is going to suck... then when it comes out... if it is a little good, it at least exceeds you expectations. If you're over hyped for a game and it turns out to be a semi good game, your desire to play it deflates rather quickly. At least, it does for me.
I think your in a better frame of mind to be pleasantly surprised than most people chomping at the but for it.

No, just no. This is not like Hellgate London...

Hellgate London in a nutshell: Cramped corridors and tunnels, everything poorly planned and executed, not an FPS (yes I know you could play in a FPS mode, but it definitely didn't feel much like an FPS... Because it wasn't made as one. The FPS mode was simply a gimmick).

Borderlands in a nutshell: Open world, FPS game with RPG elements and vehicles. Tons of loot, co-op with split screen. More emphasis on FPS elements rather than skills.

Wherter or not Borderlands will be poorly planned and poorly executed, we'll just have to see.

But this ain't no Hellgate London 2, not even close.

Based on. . . ?
I watched an hours worth of game play last night from some guy playing it and it didn't look anything like another Hellgate London.

anywho, I don't remember this being answered but are their going to be collectables, like common rare unique loot?

nope, just standard rarities. don't think there are set items... none of the videos showed anything like that, and the manual does not mention them either.

what i would like to know is whether the garage/tuning shops have been scrapped...

I wont pass judgment on it until I get the chance to play, but when I was watching that vid posted at giantbomb I couldn't help but thinking it reminded me of Hellgate too.

Hoping its really good as I'd love a good coop game about now but not sure how much I can get into the cell shading, among other things.

See soon enough I guess.

Sure game is pretty much read to go out the door, but they have plans on extending the life of the game. Personally, 10 bucks for an "expansion" isn't bad if they have enough in it.

The game is out though isn't it?
(X360 and PS3 editions of course as the PC edition was delayed one week, official date was supposedly the 20th October thus 27th for the PC version but some stores started selling earlier than the 20th - as usual - and now there's even a working release available based on the discussion in the console section.)

played 3 hours and i can say its awesome! The graphics felt at the start a little bit weird but I got used to it. im at level15 or so, playing as the first guy (dont know the name, turret skill)
Quests are mainly killing, object retrieval, talking to people, activating windmills.
Shields, greandes can be modded, means you have 1 grenade and you can put a mod on it which makes it a sticky greande for example.
There is day-night cycle.
What else can I say, im buying it for pc! Very Happy

I was afraid for the quest bit, random quests can't be good, they really should be called 'crappy missions'.

So how are the quests, any depth there?
