Oh boo hoo.... STFU! I have goddamned one, yeah ONE!!!1 ISP available, but hey all other areas in the city, except mine, has the availability to choose. I run 8mb here have done for few years now its fine, find i dont need anymore to be honest.. i download the odd film game over night when sleeping takes like 3hrs 40 tops i think it is for full dvd size.
Hardly in a rush and all streaming is fine with it regarding youtube etc etc.. Im not on virgin but Bt, but ive had virgin bb before bt in diff house and was also all fine no trouble in 3 years i had that with them..
I guess the good thing for me is though, cause ive been with bt long term all paid no issues, i get the exchange upgrade to 20mb line in november for no extra cost change on bill ... but not suprising as they will prob be bringing the prices down lol.. Knowing them buggers ill be still paying more than the avg joe that signs up new for 20mb lol..

currently with talktalk and i download at 900kbs-1meg from rapidshare

Oh boy oh boy... Grow up kids. 8MB is more than you can use anyway. What you gonna do? leech the interwebz 24/7?
Just make a queue and go to bed and when you wake up, even with 100kb/s you will have 5GB. So i really do not see the problem?

oh yeah, only an 8MB connection is a horror to live with... You guys really still leeching DVDRs 24/7 and then just throwing them away?
I've had a 100kb/s connection for almost 10 years now and i still have more shit downloaded then i can play or watch.

Exaggerating doesn't make for good arguments. I'm with spankie, you can live with 8mb just fine. Maybe it would be cool for some ppl to have more, but definitely no biggie, your movie will take half an hour or a full hour more to download, so what ?
I'm on 2mbit, lol, and I still download everything I want to, even hugeass games, it just takes many hours, but you know, RL or sleep can fill those pretty good.

Since when has internet speeds been about necessity? It's a luxury item and talking about needs are completely redundant. You could survive just fine with a 256/128 ADSL connection if you really had to but this isn't about needs it is about want. If you are a car nut and you restore muscle cars you don't put a Hyundai engine in your chevy do you? "Pfff 40 miles an hour is just fiiiiiine, you'll get there eventually"

it sure is  ive been stuck with 2mb for the last 3 years, and isp has only just started offering 8mb adsl now which ive upgraded, will take 10 days. £26.99 a month, rip off |
