yeah read that too ... also read posts from c4eva... the one shot boot mode is safe provided the disks are verified ... no firmware will be rushed out but will in time when more wave 4 come through.
dont see the hardship in using the activate.iso disk .. som epeople are just so so lazy .!!

yep correct m8 . ... doesnt really bother me - 30 seconds out my time to play a game im not buying ...
i was gonna get mine flashed to 1.51 (b4 i read the probss with liteons etc) but no point going backwards ... will just make sure games are verified and use the activate disk ..

Given that Cars Race-o-Rama is the only game using wave 4, right now, I don't see why anyone should bother with the activation disc or downgrading from 1.6. As for me, until an AAA title(Borderlands, AC 2 , MW2, Fallout 3 GOTY, Dragon Age, etc) comes with wave 4, i'll just keep on not giving a flop.

I totally agree we just need to w8 and see if the big titles is having wave 4 or not..maybe its a mistake with a shitty game..but still it concerns me cuz it was the same shit with wave 3 :O

Cars isn't the only game with wave4. Lips.Number.One.Hits.XBOX360-GLoBAL is wave4. All new games will be wave4, maybe 1 or 2 still will be wave3 but after that all will be wave4. It's wave3 story all over again.
And that's a lot of waves

Still for now it's just "I think i'll pass" games, worse case scenario i'll use activation disk until a iextreme fw update gets out. But i'll wait and see if Borderlands has it. There has to be a AAA title with wave 4 to make me update/burn a DL with activate.iso.

Hmmmm, why no Hitachi? From what I understand, the Hitachi will boot Wave 4 fine. But is it safe?

Now some people are claiming that wave4 boots fine on 1.51 liteon and other drives. So either people who can't get it to work are wrong about their fw version or some other crap.

when I said that I want to wait with buying 360
I meant I'm going to buy one with already IX installed on it,
I don't want to mess with the hardware,so I want my 360 to be as updated as possible.

If u have 1.6 wave 4 games will not work, am i right or wrong?
But if i have 1.51 with LITEON it will work but its not safe to play it, am i right or wrong?

The only way to get this playing (or any other wave4 in future) is to patch the iso,I have a benq drive 1.51fw & unpatched cars came as spalsh screen (even activate.iso discs came up as splash screen too)
I made another iso image of the game & patched it using the wave3 patcher (the older method to get wave3 games booted on older ixtreme firmware) I then burned the patched ISO to disc & works fine now on my benq drive good news for future wave4 releases if noone can be bothered again to reflash thier drive,please note though I only did this as this xbox360 is banned,dont think I would try it on my unbanned console,although if modern warfare 2 came out & was wave4 I would be highly tempted to patch it & run it on my unbanned one to play online even if it was official scene release

1. right
2. it will work and it's "safe" if you use abgx360 to verify your iso first

What's the end result then? Half people say W4 works on 1.51, yet other people say it doesn't...

well if you have 1.51 and ppf patch the game with 3rd wave patch you can play it.
