Laughing @ this book, it's so fucking emotional I cannot believe it. The guy is a fucking wimp and he doesn't have any balls I think.

You know what's the funniest thing about it?

HE REMINDS ME SO MUCH OF TIMECHANGE.

Literally, I was laughing my ass off whenever Werther went emotional, because he writes in the EXACT SAME MANNER as Timechange. Laughing

This book is like a written version of TC's blog, if you want to laugh your ass off I recommend it. Laughing

Laughing why are you reading a book specifically aimed at the same kind of people TimeChange stalks? Laughing

Well, but Werther is literature while TC is just whining.
And, if you knew anything about Goethe and the time Werther was written it you'd know that Werther was written somewhere around 1774 which was right in the middle of "Sturm und Drang" or "Storm and stress" if you prefer the english tranlsation of it.
And "Storm and stress" was kinda meant like an opposite pole to "The Enlightement" which was a time in which people solely concentrated on the intellectual side of things. What is freedom? Democracy? etc.
While "The Enlightement" produced many valuable things and ideas it lacked a more humane point of view and that is why Goethe, as it's sort of trailblazer, wrote Werther, upon others, with an extreme focus on human emotions etc.

Damn. I learned to much about literature in school.
Or worse, I remember too much of it Very Happy

I know it, I read it for school. Razz I'm still in high school.

But still, I found this book so fucking bad I think only "Nad Niemnem" by Eliza Orzeszkowa(Polish writer) was worse. I mean, this book has over 20 (TWENTY) pages about ONE TREE.

And if it comes to Goethe, I like "Faust" a lot more.
