Well, I'm not with Lloyds, but it could be fraud protection and they've blocked your card.

lol

Lloyds have been the best bank I've ever been with. They let me do whatever I want, cheap costs and great overdraft.

Strange it took your card. Have you made a lot of irregular purchases on it recently?

Natwest is the best bank btw.

They use a pattern system where they monitor accounts over long time, then if the not normal amont withdrawals happen in successions then they sometimes either freeze ur card and phone you/inform u some how to make sure its all legit transactions, or just send you a letter first for you to verify urself and then call them..

Normaly its prevailant on buisness accounts, not so much standard, but the procedures are still the same...

Dude, £25,000 is a lot of debt regardless of the amount itself.

:O I think the most I've ever been in debt is about 1.5K and I paid it off in a few months Neutral.

BTW, on friday I openned a new joint account with my misses at Lloyds and they offered us a 2K overdraft without any grief, where as halifax and abbey wanted loooooads of checks done before we could even open an account and finally offered only £300 overdraft for the first year.

LLoyds are an amazing bank Wink

I never buy without the money. never ever ever! bad idea..

I learned that from my mother who was notoriously bad with debts.

dude, i cannot understand why people can use Laughing smileys in the same sentence with "i can go 2k overdraft" and "i have 25k debt".

They will get you and you will have to pay that amount double back with all the overdue $ that are added everytime.

You have a house? If so, you can lose it, if not, you wont be able to get one.

I started working exactly 1 year ago, i live alone, pay rent etc and i still managed to save around 10k in 1 year (and real money, not some crap currency... such as USD.... And i do have a car, i do go out and i do fun stuff and i do go on holidays and no i dont go to mommy & daddy every day to get some money or food.

I really do not understand how people can get in such amounts of debt. Although i can afford a zillion inch flat screen i dont buy it, although i can afford a fancy audi with a zillion inch rims, i do not buy it. Maybe you shouldnt buy it either, because you obviously dont even have the money to buy such things...

A couple of years to go, some luck in the stock markets and i can buy my house mortgage-less Surprised Very Happy Very Happy wooha

ps you should be happy the machine ate your card. Another day you cannot spend any money

I've got a story to tell that will teach you the value of money, hard work and a little luck.

There was once a man who would setup a stool at the market and sell apples, to be precise he started out with one apple. He would get the apple for 10p and sell it for 20p..and then buy two apples for 20p and sell those for 40p.

This went on for a short period of time and then one day the man received a message, he had just heard that his uncle had died and left him a million pound. Moral of the story: you're poor until a rich relative dies thxxxxx for reading.
