How so?

The absolute mimimum number of button presses to give a random order to the whole squad here is 3:
1. Open menu.
2. Issue order
3. Close menu

And that's just for a very few contest sensitive orders. If ordering specific squaddies to do more complex things you are looking at at least 5-8 keypresses.

In arma 2 you can give most orders through two keypresses, at most you'll need 4-5. Yes, they are harder to learn but it's quicker once you have it down.

I think the menu system needs to be more hold down and mouse operated or perhaps optional to do so. Needs more function because it is somewhat tedious BUT works well at giving orders as in ARMA2 the AI does need to be COMPLETELY ordered around and will rarely adapt to a situation, can get frustrating having to tell you men to fire back or get down etc...

Oh btw this game is really nothing much like ARMA2, should compare it to BF2 perhaps? personally I like it so far but not a ARMA2 replacement not even that similar except name and milsim/island setting.

Personally I like OFP2 a hell of a lot more than ARMA2. Feels and looks better imo.

Really. How can OFP2 be plausibly compared to BF2? Have any of the people comparing them actually played both?

It's best to do that with the binoculars on if you're reasonably far from the target.

Also, the airstrike/Bombardment must be ready. Wait for the com radio to tell you that they are in range.

So far excellent game - but I dont know why I failed on the second mission. Said the support was 2min away and all of a sudden they aborted and I failed (I was right next to the missiles)

I am really tempted to buy ARMA 2 so i can compare.
I really love these type war games. Really do.
I really liked ARMA I but i bought it really late.

ARMA 2 single player... if it really is THAT broken now... I wouldn't be interested.

I agree. Arma and it's sequels just feel so unfinished and rigid. I'm having way more fun with OpF2

Default is right Shift Wink

Anyway - I finished mission 3 - capturing the beachead. It was fucking annoying to eliminate the first 2 AT teams. I couldn't understand if it was grass or rock or PLA shooting at me.
Did anyone else notice that sometimes when the enemy is partially behind a tree, you cannot kill or shoot him?

This game sucks. Played It about 30mins and I can say that its not even in 1% an real OFP. Its more like COD or BF2. For me, good sequel of OFP is ARMA 2. OFP 2 is jsut boring for me, go shoot 2 guys, go to next waypoint and so again again and again. Not worth to spend my money on it.

Graphic is bad, even on high textures looks like from 3-4 years old games, blured etc. (1280x1024 all on HIGH AAx4, AFx8) and this freakin HDR :S

What now u can say fanboys ? R u enjoyed this game so much like good old OFP ? I dont think so.

EOT

I'm enjoying it more than the first flashpoint simply because I can actually play the game and not spend my time fighting the game wrecking bugs. I prefer a functional game to a bug ridden one. maybe that's just me.

oh, stop with the bug-excuse already
if the game is buggy, you WAIT
this applies to slowness aswell.. ofp, arma and arma2 greatly improved upon their performance after the first few patches and there's a few tweak mods that smooth it even further (i recommend disabling postprocessing in options)
but neither of them has FUCKALL to do with the gameplay
this is a horrid simplistic console shooter and no amount of patching will ever fix that
