I'm experiencing an error when trying to launch the game " The aplication failed to initialize properly ... " ....anyone has it too..?

I had the same problem awhile ago. Its the loader combined with not having SPs on your computer. If you still have problems running the game... convert the iso to a Clone CD format, run it... fuck the loader. Actually razor, I didnt have to download Service Pack 2. I had to download Service Pack 1a.

Hmm I just beat this game but I went through it a second time. Right after you go to the power station before you go into the mines, I get a StarBreeze engine error, it had to shut down. I tried changing resolution and shit, every 30 seconds i load the game and play, it does that... so I have to quick save every 30 seconds. Hoodlum sux. Them and their loaders.

Fuck, now I'm also getting like tree error messages when starting up the game. First time it started nice but after changing settings it gave me these error messages. It says something about opengl compatible card not found. wtf? Then I get a runtime error. I got xp pro with sp2 and I've never had these kinds of problem

Got it working but I'm experiencing very irritating graphic glitches. It's a bit like the glitches from the terrain in Farcry.

hmm... have no idea wtf you guys are talking about.

I unpacked the Hoodlum rls into an iso (some 3.1 gb or close), burned it with Nero, installed, haven't had a single hiccup.

My sys:
WinXPPro running on
P4 2.4 GHz, factory clock speeds
512MB PC3200 DDR
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 128 mb
DX 9.0c

My guess is the mounting process... if u have a DVD burner try burning.

I've got another irritating problem, after I beat Abbot at his place, there is a cutscene where the warden is discussing Riddicks fee with Johns and after tells Riddick he's being send down the mines.
The problem is I get a black screen during the cutscene, with only audio. Anyone else experienced this or read somewhere how to fix it?

Accelleron -> Not all computer have the same hardware and software, duuuh. I'm using latest omega drivers but there seems to be some problems with them. And I've also burned it, not mounted it.

..."using latest drivers"...

there's your problem.

I had/have an old nVidia FX5200, and every time I want to install some new game I must play around with driver versions.

Try installing one that's compatible with your card and about two versions old.

Had the same problem. Similair problem occured several levels after that too.

I just rebooted my PC and reloaded (no pun intended Wink) the last checkpoint & it worked again! Smile

BTW, I'm running Windows XP incl. SP2. Perhaps that might add to the stability of the game...

Humm there's something that should have been said in first place : the game does not seem do support non-SSE processors like mine (1.4 TB), the install setup desn't even start !! Unfortunatly I already burnt it .
Let's hope they'll create a patch quickly.

I have a 1.4 gig athlon processor with Win XP SP2 and I cannot load the hoodlum release. The same copy works on my buddies intel machine.

As you can see I'm a newb to this board so please excuse my newbness... and any help would be appreciated. What I'm wondering is if the Myth release or Carbon release that are listed on the index correct some of the problems that people are having with the Hoodlum release?

first strange thing,i have seen on the net, that the game has 5cds,and actually it has 3... nervermind..
the second problem is( before you ask i have windows xp and SP2 installed ), after i put the system directory from cd1 to the games directory, and tried to launch the game, a problem occured : "SbzEngine didn't found" and "MCCDyn.dll didn't found, reinstall the game would solve the problem"

In game's Forum they're saying the problem (non SSE incompatibility) will be addressed in a forthcoming patch. It's the only way I can consider it as buyable.

Same thing happening here.
Trying to install from DVD and it keeps crashing on me.
Installed from the mounted image fine.
No change to the system either.
Did you ever manage to get it installed Mr Baggins? if so how?

The `The chronicles of Riddick` and error "Game has crashed. Do you want to create a crashlog?" which I had encountered countless times, I managed to get it to install. I had downloaded it several times via torrent links with the same error message when trying to run setup from the unzipped 3.13 gb file Sad . I downloaded it again (HOODLUM Release) and still got the same error message. I tried loading it as an ISO this time (which it is anyway) with Alcohol 120% and the setup screen popped up ready for installation!. Laughing
Hope this is informative to someone out there! Question
