Worst thing is there's no dedicated server support...

And you know this from where??

Because there is not even any mentioning of dedicated server files in the official forums....

There is a thread as to IF there is dedicated files and people speculating.

But nothing has been said from the devs that there is no dedicated server files.

This is a rumor started by some people in the official forums and speculations started.

So how about waiting for the game to be released insted of spreading rumors as if they were the truth. Fact is noone knows yet

Well, i got the review copy of OFP Dragon Rising PC version and how they could give it 9/10 is way beyond me. It's not that good. Movement feels strange and the whole view feels zoomed. The PC version is also a direct port meaning the game will probably be better on a console. AI is stupid. It feels like they didn't tweak AI for PC and i never get the feeling of being in a war. As i said...Dragon Rising will probably be better on a console. I haven't tried online yet due to the lack of servers and reviewers playing but i think online will probably bee the good part of this game.

As a total package, ArmA 2 beats the crap out of Dragon Rising for me.

Epic fail if it's true. An FPS that's better on consoles than on PC is a bad FPS.

But how come you have a review copy? Rolling Eyes

Pre-official scene releases are rather rare these days, so I wouldn't start desperately refreshing torrent sites just now. Razz

You're not gonna wait long anyway, it's coming out on Tuesday.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

fade is a BiS protection thing not this ofp2 thing we see here Very Happy

I guess you've forgotten the horror of the "original" Operation Flashpoint then Razz FADE ripped the shit out of the pirates/crackers back then Wink

Yeah but context is wrong..

They just kept the name... Fade has no place when talking about OFP2...

Some good diaries, you all might want to read (its pretty neat while waiting for the release Wink)

One good point the writers pointed out is that when soldiers loose their morale they start to whimper and cry out loud.
Andy Alderson wrote:
"Tim noticed a third spotter on the radar as I waited to respawn and moved towards a concrete bunker behind which he was waiting to pounce. Or not, as it turned out. Having sent Avery around one side of the bunker, while he sneaked around the other, when they both popped out to face the enemy they discovered a PLA soldier crying on his knees. At which point, Tim shot him."

If thats unscripted then this game will be awesome!!! (who cares that its not like the original, if its good and imersive then its worth my money Wink)

Hype up people!!! Razz

As a huge opflash fan back in the day i was in the clouds when i was able to playtest the game at gamesconvention. Only to find out that modifications like project reality for much older games such as battlefield2 had a much higher sence of war and realism then this game. I dont even think it will be very well modable. It felt like playing with plastic soldiers in a clay sanbox. Bad physics, no interactive environment and weird AI.

Guys try the demo first, dont let the hype get to you. Make your own judgement.

I'm pretty sure Codemasters have mentioned addons but I'm fairly certain they only mean the built in map-editor (Both console and PC supposedly have it.) atleast until the files can be unpacked and modded that way. (Similar to ArmA and PBO files yet not as supported.) it's the EVO engine (Modified a bit.) so if Grid and Dirt can be modified then this title and Dirt 2 should be workable as well with a bit of effort from the community I'd guess. hope so, but we all know the days of unlimited modding are over, the age of paying for DLC is upon us and they are sure gonna put everything in the modders way to prevent them making free content Sad

It's just personal opinions isn't it? ARMA II only got 80% at Gamespot as a comparison.

Gamestar gave Arma 2 66 % due its bugs.

So they gave 78 % OFP DR without mentioning bugs. Something is still not right here.

Anyway i wont attack the game, lets see if the demo is fine. Smile
