ive done so well not reading about this or getting there yet and u kill it in one foul swoop over a morrowind fest vs oblviion lol..

Come on that one was obvious, the moment you see Optimus Prime, err Liberty Prime you know how it's going to end if you played Todd Howard's other opus Oblivion.
As Sabin pointed out if you get the Broken Steel DLC thats not the end. |

Will somebodyyyyyy ( from the guys that are already playing it )tell us why the game engine seems to be that bad??
48fps @ 1920 without AA on a 5870 is RIDICULOUS!!

its a new card ffs, what u expect miracles? gonna have to give this one time for new cards.... and 48 is not that bad anyhow, not for playing, but bad maybe for the card at this time yes....

I'm getting 30/40 fps here on a 280 GTX overclocked.

Depends on what system is backing up that GPU. And it's an RPG, I assume he has everything on max. 48fps is pretty good.

Crysis has alot of tricks to improve performance, like only using HR textures when you're just in front of an object. Risen is also an RPG, the view distance is high, there are alot of light effects and alot of vegetation. RPG'd are always more taxing.
You can't simply say "Crysis is running so and so, so X should run like this". How Crysis runs is meaningless.

no it will prob be driver profile related or something.. the cards been out 2 mins lol...
and yes best card it looks to stand good when u can double the frames from a 285 38 to 62+  i know where my money will be next upgrade..

So it seems the only people playin this are the people with vitrual cd 9 huh? I tried to use that with windows 7 ultimate, and it freaked out haha. Gonna have to wait for actual release.
Hope it runs good with my 4870!

It is perhaps wiser to wait a month or so and see what nVidia's offering will be, even for the mere chance of ATI reducing the price.

Well, just played for few hours. Graphics wise the game is not exciting. The environments are okay, but the characters and animations are pretty bad.
Music and sound are not very interesting, I hardly noticed them and that's not a good sign. Divinity 2 for example had awesome music.
Gameplay wise the game is Gothic 2. Some people say it's better, but for me it feels exactly the same: Quests and dialog trees are of the same type and complexity. The game is very combat oriented and it's as hard as Gothic 2...a lot of reloads and retries, luring enemies to guards for help and so on. Character development system looks pretty much the same, you train all your skills and attributes for money.
All in all, the game is fine and I suppose a lot of people will find it enjoyable and as much people will find it frustrating, boring, etc.
Oh, and on my rig it runs smooth at around 40 fps with all settings on highest.
i7 6700k @ 4.4 GHZ, 2060s, 16 GB RAM, SSD, Windows 10x64.

yes, of course they are. it's because the computer has to make many calculations about all objects and stuff. all enemies have inventories with more objects in them, so as you can see it's a lot of objects, much more than in a fps. and it has to remember all of this, at all time. AT ALL TIME. so it's normal that rpgs run worse than fpesses |
