It's the new MX, no idea why in the NZ version it's that silly codename. Perhaps it's not out in NZ yet? [Edit: You edited your post. Smile]

If you are planning on gaming or have a large resolution monitor (1650+), I would suggest staying away from the MX line, as they have low DPI sensors.

I suggest this:

It's very comfortable for both gaming and everyday use, the frictionless scroll is just unbelievable, you'll never want to surf the web (or documents, or whatever) without it (the MX also has this). Also, looks like the MX and G9 have the same price 99$ USD.

Buying a gaming mouse is mostly a personal preference thing. If you're going to game "seriously", you'll need to also get a 100hz+ monitor - preferably the sony fw900 crt, or an LCD with minimal to none input lag, run games at a 100fps or more, minimize internet latency and ensure you can use your sound system to pinpoint incoming attacks.

My point is the feel is the most important thing, so don't overthink it.

If I were buying, it would have to be the G9 because I like to game competitively, if that weren't a factor? tough call. Logitech make great mice, you should be fine with either one. The 950 and the G9 have the same price of $200AUD at the logitech store for me, but I know my local retailers sell the G9 for a fair bit less.
